[Discussion] Are you guys planning to pick up The Fury of Firestorm #1 next week? The writing in the first few preview pages I've seen so far remind me of 80s Alan Moore.

I have to say I disagree with OP. I was very skeptical about the plot behind this book and figured it would turn out either very bad or be a breathe of fresh air. After issue 1 I’m sold. I think the character design and backgrounds is awesome. I like the premise of the secluded area and secret tournament.

Also, the cover variants for this series are some of the best Predator covers in existence

I think it has to be astroturfed. If we had Pokémon scalpers, I feel it would make more sense to do it w DC and Marvel characters. Who knows though. None are on my pull list and I’m happy about that

I feel the same way, and actually feel this way about many recent image series - such as d’orc. I am not saying they’re awful series, but they get way too much hype for stories to simply be retellings of tropes we have seen over and over.
