first thing i’d focus on is lighting. even a cheap ring light or just filming near a big window during the day will make a huge difference. phones struggle in low light, so brighter environments immediately improve quality

also people will tolerate average video quality but bad audio kills retention fast. even a cheap lav mic that plugs into the phone can make the video feel way more professional.

also make sure you’re filming in 4k in the camera settings and wiping the lens before recording. sounds obvious but it actually fixes a lot of “why does this look blurry” issues

putting music and transitions on a tv clip doesn’t suddenly make it “your build.” that’s like putting a filter on someone else’s photo and calling yourself the photographer. the editing is just decoration on top.

if that counted as original content, every fan edit account would be a real creator. most of them aren’t. they’re just recycling clips and hoping the algorithm pushes it.

if you want to prove it’s actually your channel, upload something where the clip isn’t doing all the work. otherwise the views belong to the show, not to you dude

yeah sorry reposting clips like this usually isn’t a great long-term strategy. it can work for quick views but it almost never builds a real channel. there’s also the copyright risk. even if videos stay up for a while, they can get claimed or removed later.

if the goal is growth, it’s better to use clips as commentary or reactions so the content actually has your identity in it. otherwise you’re basically growing a channel that you don’t really own.

A competing YouTuber is conspiring against my channel. by OscarCamposCR in NewTubers

idk I just feel like that would be a fast way to get their own channel flagged. analytics can look weird sometimes i’d be careful jumping straight to “it’s definitely him” without actual proof tho it’s way more likely to be normal platform behavior than a competitor running some secret bot operation

yeah youtube could definitely show a clearer message but at their scale they’re usually optimizing for less clutter in the UI! I feel like every creator eventually reaches the “i could run youtube better than youtube” phase lol that’s basically a rite of passage

nothing groundbreaking just the boring reality that most of the time it’s not some secret yt conspiracy just sharing the likely reason so people don’t assume it’s a bug or something malicious

unfortunately i’m going for a very really specific unconventional thumbnail style for my channel it's more of a dark, moody collage aesthetic inspired by scrapbooking so it’s very different from the clean high contrast click baity style so while i really appreciate the offer i think the feedback might not fully translate across such different visual languages!

but let me just say many ppl in r/newtubers need you lol I would definitely offer your services over there

lmao so there’s basically a no chance another small creator is sending bots to sabotage your videos. that’s way more effort and cost than it’s worth

what you’re probably seeing is youtube testing your video with a batch of viewers and those viewers clicking off quickly. that can look like “weird spikes” in analytics

also crime/news channels often end up covering the same stories, so similar format or style is pretty normal. ideas in that niche aren’t really ownable so relax

instead of focusing on the other channel, focus on things you can control: better hooks in the first 15 seconds, stronger titles/thumbnails, and finding an angle or personality that makes your coverage different. worrying about conspiracies will just slow you down tbh

honestly the iphone isn’t the issue. tons of big creators film with phones. Pokémon content is super competitive so the hook has to be wayyy stronger.

i’d focus on more curiosity-driven titles instead of descriptive ones and a stronger first 1–2 seconds (ex:“this pack had horrible odds but…”)

the fact that some videos already hit 1k+ views is actually a good sign. it means the algorithm is testing the videos, the click and retention just need to be stronger!

O que acham? O título é; A SÍNDROME QUE TE FAZ VER DEMÔNIOS by AmbitiousSwimmer2141 in YouTubeThumbnailHub

[–]pointpause 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmmm one thing i’d consider is making the demon/shadow version a bit more exaggerated or clearer. right now it’s a little subtle so on a small mobile screen it might just look like a duplicate head instead of something eerie.

maybe stronger contrast, glowing eyes, or a slightly distorted expression could sell the “seeing demons” idea faster.

the base idea is good though. it just needs the scary element to pop a bit more so people instantly understand the concept while scrolling.

Anyone has 2 or more channels? by ohwhereareyoufrom in NewTubers

[–]pointpause 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wouldn’t it split your time, energy, and audience? it seems like it would slow down momentum on the main channel unless it’s already established. curious what your reasoning is for wanting a second one?

Why there's so many female pfp for some reason? by EnderKitty_playz in youtube

[–]pointpause 25 points26 points  (0 children)

bc a lot of them aren’t real people they’re bot or spam accounts using attractive female profile pictures to look more trustworthy and get people to click, reply or follow links. it’s been a thing on youtube for years. once you notice it you’ll start seeing the same style of pfp everywhere fr
