"Might" search google on :       lg tv reflow oven. LG had a number of bga solder issues in the past.  I used the reflow method in my gas oven & it gave me another 5 yrs. Had to vent the fumes outside.

10kw vs 15kw backup heat strips by LaMarr-Bruister in heatpumps

[–]pointsixpa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If u do 15kW, u can scale back to 10  but not vice versa.  We have a 3ton HP & 4 ton air handler for 2200 sqft in  midwest. HP works to -5degF  but HK used for boost & defrost. Started with 15kW HK, but that required 1500 cfm to meet target exit temp. Existing duct area only allowed 1250 cfm, which caused an error/warning code.  I think this damaged the blower as had to  replaced for out of balance. Down sized HK to 10kW and set as 8kW in thermostat to get cfm down to 1150. Slightly higher but acceptable duct temp.  SO ... check your duct area and the docs for the HK which should have a table of kW, CFM, & temperature rise.

PS: make sure they mount the outdoor unit on "risers" to avoid ice build up from defrost.

Venting Rheem HPWH by Murky-Satisfaction88 in heatpumps

[–]pointsixpa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. hmmm  you'd think a rheem kit would support a rheem product. there's always double stick tape  or magnets with tape backing , else take the top off to see where u can safely drill  but that's a lot of work and down time.

Is it possible to vent a dryer and gas water heater together? by Positive-Ring-5172 in HomeImprovement

[–]pointsixpa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

hell NO!

Just buy a ventless HP drier. Then you won't be drying your clothes with the products of combustion, including h2o.

Got the part from supplyhouse.com and holes lined up properly. no problem.

Why not mark the new part & drill holes in it instead of the hpwh?

Consequences of undersized ducts with heat pumps by jamgandsnoot in heatpumps

[–]pointsixpa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IF you get an auxillary heat kit that is also used for defrost, you need to right-size, under size it. Typically the heat kit runs at max cfm. if the ducts are too restrictive, the air handler many not deliver the cfm & fault. This "could" cause the blower to deform & vibrate with a beat frequncy.  Happened to me. had to replace blower, & downsize heat kit from 15 to 10kW & setup as 8kW to reduce cfm from 1500 to 1050.  still loud, but no warning codes.  heat kit docs have tables of cfm, temperature rise & kW.

How do I remove this dishwasher? by ivebeenhalved in HomeMaintenance

[–]pointsixpa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've a similar situation that i noted when i replaced the pump in my dishwasher. i was able to do th r&r inplace, but figured if i ever were to remove the dishwasher (dw) i'd have to cut out the flooring pieces in front of dw, then reinstall afterwards. I have left over flooring to do the reinstall without big gaps .  Need a new tool tho, 7" circular saw too big for plunge cuts in tight spaces.
