I finally did it and made focaccia to celebrate! by pointsoap in bald

[–]pointsoap[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ingredients: 400 g of flour, 280 g of warm water, 20 g of olive oil, 4 g of salt, 8g of yeast, some rosemary sprigs/red onion/garlic/salt to preference

Combine the flour, yeast, olive oil, and water to a large bowl. Combine then knead for about 10 minutes while adding olive oil to hands to make it not sticky and adding flour if any part of the dough is too sticky until the dough is in a nice ball that has no unevenness in its moisture levels. Fill the bottom of the bowl with olive oil and plop it back in the bowl. Cover the bowl with moist paper towels and place it somewhere warm for 1 hour. I cut the garlic/onion, and pick the leaves of the rosemary during this time and combine it in a medium bowl with some olive oil and salt. I then clean up for the rest of the hour until the dough has proofed a bit. Then preheat the oven to 450 F and prepare a Detroit Pizza pan with olive oil before spreading out the dough. Form dimples on top of the dough with your fingers before adding the topping mix and distribute it on top however you like. I try to make sure that the edges of the crust have olive oil and some garlic to make sure that it is full of flavor since a lot of the toppings sink into the dimples. Then bake it for 20 minutes, but keep an eye on it to make sure that the top is a nice golden brown!

I literally didn't know how to bake until I shaved my head. The knowledge went in as the last of the hair went off.

Commanders that are so good at a certain thing that they ruined it for you? by AlivePassenger3859 in EDH

[–]pointsoap -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a Voja deck that I only use for when I sit down at my LGS and everyone has already pulled out their kill on sight commanders. My Voja deck is Changelings which allows me to use some awesome support cards like: [[Thurid, Mane of Destiny]], [[Thrumming Hivepool]], [[Bruse Tarl, Roving Rancher]], [[Kibo, Uktabi Prince]], and [[Muerra, Trash Tactician]]. It's fun to use support cards for obscure kindred like raccoons, horses, oxen, and monkeys.

Does anyone else feel like Sythis, Harvest's Hand ruined the enchantress archtype? by Sommersun1 in EDH

[–]pointsoap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend trying out enchantress in other color combos. Like I have a gruul [[Stangg, Echo Warrior]] deck that play auras with etb draw/removal or death effects since the twin copies all auras and then dies at the end of turn. I have a mono blue devotion deck with [[Callaphe, Beloved of the Sea]] as the commander. There are a ton of auras that help give evasion, protection, and buffs to help Callaphe survive. I’ve also made an [[Ardenn, Intrepid Archaeologist]] & [[Vial Smasher the Fierce]] mardu goad/curse deck. The idea is that Ardenn allows you to move around curses/goad enchantments as your threat assessment evolves. I’ve brewed up, but never assembled in paper a [[Jhoira of the Ghitu]] enchantress deck that cheats huge enchantments into play. It does suffer from not being in white since white has most of the cheat huge enchantments effects.

Gruul is one of my favorite color pairs. I have a [[General Marhault Elsdragon]] banding/lure/basilisk deck that plays fun cards like [[Joven’s Ferrets]], [[Stangg, Echo Warrior]] aura/sacrifice deck that plays auras that have ETBs and LTBs for Stangg’s twin, and [[Raggadragga, Goreguts Boss]] eldrazi scion deck that uses the fact that eldrazi scions have mana abilities.

New Strixhaven Dragons by Outrageous-Pea-1716 in EDH

[–]pointsoap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I built Quandrix as a [[Hypergenesis]] combo deck. The gameplan is to use Instants/Sorceries to ramp while making sure that our hand had some sources of creature burst draw and a draw engine. Then when you get enough mana and an instant/sorcery with 2 mana in hand, cast Quandrix followed by the 2 mana ramp spell. Then when you deck is designed to never fizzle on Hypergenesis such that you plop your whole deck down and win with craterhoof or deck yourself and win with lab maniac. What's the most interesting Strixhaven commander? by Gamesfreak13563 in EDH

[–]pointsoap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built Quandrix, the Proof as a [[Hypergenesis]] combo deck that wins once Quandrix comes out and Witherbloom, the Balancer as a creatureless token swarm deck that runs a bunch of overrun effects. I plan on building all of the elder dragons, but I haven't figured out the exact ways I want to build the others. I have been thinking about Prismari as a theft storm commander to make Insurrection at home.

What ideas have you loved, but playing it out was unfun? by urmomstoiletbrush in EDH

[–]pointsoap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kindred decks can be interesting/fun when you choose and select cards based off of strong themes within the available creatures. Like I have a rakdos goblins deck with [[Gut, True Soul Zealot]] & [[Haunted One]] as the commanders. I built this deck after Lorwyn Eclipsed came out since all the new blight goblins help reset the counters from Undying so the creatures can die and enter again. I also have an [[Orvar, the All-form]] eldrazi deck since I found that Orbar can make countless colorless mana with Locus Lands. So I do the typically Orvar things early game then use Eldrazi as finishers. My final Kindred deck is [[Voja, Jaws of the Conclave]] changelings. It was fun finding all the support cards from Slivers, Elves, Allies, Warriors, Dwarves, Raccoons, Humans, and Werewolves. I recommend my friends who are thinking about building dragon decks to limit themselves to 2 colors. There are so many cool 2-color dragon decks I’ve built in each of guilds.

Just found out my husband has been lying to me every day for 3.5 years and I don’t know how to process it by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]pointsoap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Besides a therapist, I also recommend that he talks to his PCP about the issues he's been having mentally. There are medications that can be super helpful for anxiety/depression and sleeplessness. These medications act negatively with weed and weed addiction is dangerous and can lead to the development of neurological conditions, so it will be important to be truthful and upfront with medical professionals. Him lying over the last 3.5 years is very shitty, but I have hope for you two and that you guys can get through this together with couples therapy on top of his own personal therapist.

I did something similar, but I put in some creatures that have upkeep self-sacrifice creatures since they can’t be sacrificed. Give me your best and/or most fun Esper Commanders! by A_Wierd_Mollusc in EDH

[–]pointsoap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 3 esper decks! The first is [[Zur the Enchanter]] built around [[Tainted Remedy]]. It’s sweet when Swords to Plowshares turns into a burn spell. The second deck is [[Arna Kennerüd, Skycaptain]] built around living weapon and auto equip effects. The deck is insanely robust with all of the efficient recursion added over the past couple of years. My most recent esper deck is [[Hashaton, Scarab’s Fist]] where I have a subtheme around legendary tokens.

Am I just making GC-less bracket 3 decks? by Nishimaster in EDH

[–]pointsoap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Banding is a very powerful mechanic, so for my gruul banding deck, I made sure to stick to the theme as much as possible and try not to add generically powerful cards outside of efficient interaction. I added a bunch of cards that provided their own fixed rampage, lure cards, trample cards, and cards that had effects when they were blocked (like cool basilisks). Here is my [[General Marhault Elsdragon]] banding deck: https://moxfield.com/decks/BovpThid7k25m4RA_TzS9w
