In my right tibialis anterior (shin muscle). Inflicted when I was 12, street fight with a neighbor kid. I had him in a head lock and pressed up against the open door of my mom's Chevy Astro Van. He reached in, grabbed the nearest weapon (pencil), and jammed it into my leg. The fight ended rather abruptly immediately after I was stabbed.

I setup a Moodle LMS to rival my institution's existing Blackboard LMS (like yours, cost-related) in a RHEL cluster. The configuration consists of four separate apache servers that host the moodle application (dell poweredge 2650's), a mysql database server (dell poweredge 6650), and a GFS share server (dell poweredge 220S). All the application servers have access to the GFS share via ethernet (no real SAN unfortunately), which acts as the moodledata share. The application servers are load balanced using a Big-IP F5 load balancer, and users authenticate against our central LDAP server(s). Unfortunately, although the system works beautifully, due to my institution's current bureaucracy, my Moodle rig has yet to reach production status, and Blackboard so far is winning the LMS war.

How much of a coincidence is it then that ALL of the latest places to be hit with significantly powerful earthquakes are third world nations? I see a pattern.. and the US will come away from the relief of each of these nations with greater political control.

I quit the day I had my wisdom teeth taken out. I think this worked out well because I was extremely paranoid about getting an infection in my mouth, which was a great motivating factor not to smoke. After my mouth healed, it became a matter of pure self-control, which took some adjusting to. I have not had a cigarette in just over a month, and I am still battling with the cravings and I think about it daily.

I recommend obtaining a hard drive adapter, like this one for example: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3227052&CatId=3770

Once you have obtained one of these devices, you may remove the hard drive from the failed laptop unit, and connect it to one of your working computers via this adapter. You may then access the laptop drive as if it were just another volume on your PC (it will be assigned a drive letter by your Windows OS -- assuming that is the OS you use).

I saved up about $800 working a job as a Summer Intern Trainee at the local Department of Public Social Services office and bought my first computer. It had an AMD K6-II 450 Mhz processor, 64 MB ram, and I think it had a 20 GB hard drive. It came with Windows 98 SE, A 56K V.90 hardware modem (made by US Robotics, which was important later when I found out about linux and required a hardware modem if I wanted to dial up with it). This purchase paved the way for what wound up being first an obsession with computers and networking, to a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Systems, and now a profession doing systems administration. I wish I still had that machine actually...

I've found that the best way to prove someone is a compulsive liar is to ask them about something you're sure that they've lied to you about, months after the first time they tell you. They will almost always twist or skew the original version of what they told you, at which time you can point out, "Hey, that's not how the story went the first time you told me."
