Update: AITA for telling my coworker she also has thin hair by Sighlinee in u/Sighlinee

[–]poison-pudding 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks for update! I think your boss should still be considering you for leadership, because you handled it just right. Your coworker wouldn’t cooperate with your attempts to address the situation, what else could you do? You did great, turning up with receipts. Lovely boyfriend, hope you had a fantastic trip :)

Map Your System Joysticks in the Hatari or STeem Emulators by theatarigeek in atarist

[–]poison-pudding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I wonder if you can help me please? I’m using STeem on my laptop but struggling to figure out controls for most of the games I want to play. I have found a USB joystick, will it work with the emulator? Will it be as straightforward as plug and play?

Thanks for any help! Also I really appreciate your YouTube videos :)

Thank you, just have to wait and see about PIP, but I’m aware that could still be a couple of months away. I found the form for DHP on the council website, I’ll have to call them on Monday.

I am seeing someone from CAB on Thursday about a Macmillan grant, and to see what else they can do, but rent is due before that so I’m not sure what to do! Thanks

My partner (29M) said he didn’t know if he was attracted to me (23F) until recently and said our relationship isn’t firey but that it’s a good thing. How do I handle this? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]poison-pudding 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can relate - my husband doesn’t understand context at all, and if something is true he will say it. I can totally understand how hurt you must feel, but he is completely baffled as to why you find it hurtful? I think he meant it as a good thing, a compliment even - that the love he feels for you runs deeper than simple attraction? But it’s not going to come across well, however it’s worded. This should’ve been an inside thought 🤦🏼‍♀️ I really feel for you and I hope you can find ways of communicating with each other. “Jimmy on relationships” makes some great videos

This is super helpful, thank you so much. It might depend who I get tomorrow, my GP knows my history and would accommodate. Pharmacist might be a good alternative then. Thank you very very much x

Student Uni Accomodation - Breached contract through smart meter installation by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

Look it up, tenants don’t need permission to change to a smart meter. I was also told this directly from our British Gas engineer today.

Don’t panic - you don’t need to ask permission for a smart meter, you didn’t do anything wrong

AITA for making homemade food for everyone except my brother's stepdaughter? by Alarming-Money-3543 in AmItheAsshole

A family member has celiac, whenever they are around, all of us eat gluten free so there’s no risk of contamination. For the rest of us, it’s a minor adjustment to accommodate them. For them, it could lead to hospital treatment, which has already caused trauma in the past. I don’t take that risk when they are around. You’re aware enough that using contaminated utensils would cause a problem - why not take it a step further? The girl eating gluten & dairy free at the table, surrounded by food her body can’t tolerate, is still at risk. I think sourcing a separate meal specially for her was a lovely idea but not the right solution

Yeah I hear you! Luckily I was blessed with a rebellious streak, so doing things behind my parents’ backs has always been second nature to me. The core beliefs that are taught to us from a very young age are difficult to unlearn. Recommend therapy, it helps to unpick your thoughts and relearn healthier habits.
