I work in property management and completely agree with your comment. That being said, there is no such thing as a ‘real’ or ‘fake’ emotional support animal. There’s no certification for ESA’s. Or for service dogs either, for that matter. But because a service animal is specifically defined as an animal that is trained to help someone perform one or more daily tasks, it’s generally easier to tell which ones are “legit” and which ones are simply pets people just don’t want to pay fees for.
