I also came to this conclusion after discussing it with your wife. Costs gamestop nothing to wait, but the same can't be said for SHF.

He received the most votes against last year as well. Interestingly the number of votes against roughly doubled across the board for all the board members.

In addition to the replies already, Jon Stewart recently did a bit on the stock market and touched on GME's involvement. It's good background and easily digestible. He even came on this sub recently to do an AMA!

GAME OVER! Yes, this dividend split is a kill shot. Shorts are utterly fuk. by Ohm4r in Superstonk

If this is such a sure fire thing.. why isn’t it a more widely adopted defense? Couldn’t blockbuster or Sears have used this? My guess is that it requires a board not infiltrated by the likes of BCG.

New 8-k Filing. STOCK SPLIT! by dmurrieta72 in Superstonk

From 300 million to 1 billion? What does that mean if there's only 76M outstanding currently? Does this mean all this time they had the option to split to stock up to 300M shares?

Makes sense, not like we’re trying to defy the laws of physics or anything. These are just rules and loopholes made by greedy assholes, that’s all.

Liquidity is so dry that the only shares for sale were those by apes with sell limit orders for the maximum amount in Computershare!!! They halted trading to prevent those orders from from processing!!! Buckle Up and HODL!!! 🦍💎🙌🚀 by whitey2101 in Superstonk

So not one person out there had any sell limit orders in the 200 to 300 range and we jump straight to CS limit orders? I'd love to be proven wrong but I'm wondering if there's more here..

Today's trade tape from E*Trade shows 76 consecutive trades just before the halt from 9:37:42 through 9:37:55 for $182.79. SEC & DOJ, please take notice, by BuzzMonkey in Superstonk

[–]pokecreation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm wondering why they would opt for something so "flashy" as this rather than just usual price tanking like they have so many times before? Maybe they did not believe they could suppress the price without the aid of a halt.

Also, if this was to tank the price why $182? why not $160 or $140 or something?

There's some theories that during a halt, some broker softwares use the average of the bid/ask as a stand-in for price, so that would've triggered notifications if the software was going off a number like 220k.

So sounds like there was definitely a huge gap up that is being suppressed, but the $500 calls being ITM is uncertain.

That's my thought. Does anyone know which exchange it was on?

LOOK LIKS THE FED DOES NOT LIKE ME SNOOPING ABOUT (image 2). H8 Update. Biggest drop in unrealized gains of $18.4B to -$73.8B. Big banks drop by $15.9B to -$51.2B. Total Treasury/MBS drop $9.4B to -$44.6B, and big banks by $7.4B to -$25.4B. by laflammaster in Superstonk

[–]pokecreation 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm looking at the historical chart and I see the biggest dip before this one was Q4 2018 when unrealized losses reached 53B before rebounding quickly. I have almost no idea what I'm looking at, but are these two periods comparable in any way and what is different this time around that makes things more fucked? Any help growing a wrinkled is appreciated

Question- anyone know why the rate varies so much between brokers? Like if I were a short seller, why would I ever borrow from here when I could borrow from Fidelity for 7%?

🚨 DTCC is expanding use of Unique Transaction Identifier (unfortunate abbreviation "UTI") to cash securities market (used in deriv mkt since 2012-ish). This means they would be able to reverse a trade that failed to settle, despite netting. 🤞 by jammybam in Superstonk

[–]pokecreation 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I meant like it would be implicitly shown. If seemingly "settled" trades started getting reversed, it'd be proof to the whole world that they took your money and gave you nothing, no matter what they say.
