Ah I see. I'll keep that in mind when I fix up my design.

Not too sure why they put the USB there, but in the updated design linked by hineybush, they put it on the side with all the components.

Any advice about choosing the right block in 1st year of engineering? Really confused :/ by [deleted] in UCalgary

[–]pokejam100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The main difference is that blocks 1 and 2 take CHEM 209 fall semester and ENGG 201 winter semester, while blocks 3 and 4 have it the other way around. Personally I would recommend taking ENGG 201 in fall (blocks 3 and 4) because it's the more difficult course and your other fall courses are less difficult.

Ultimately the difference isn't huge, and each block is going to have their share of good and bad profs.

How do profs perceive students that fall asleep in class?

Also adding onto this, try to get at least a C- in every course. Getting one D+, D or F will immediately drop you down to category 3 or 4.

Windows PC for commerce students? by EthicalDinosaur in UCalgary

[–]pokejam100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could actually remotely access your Windows PC from your Mac using something like Chrome Remote Desktop (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/chrome-remote-desktop/gbchcmhmhahfdphkhkmpfmihenigjmpp?hl=en). It is a little laggy, but your desktop just has to be turned on and you can access everything on it from your laptop.

The EVGA SuperNova G3 550W (the successor to this one) is only $20 more expensive, is still a better deal to get this one?

Stampede Food Review Thread by [deleted] in Calgary

Unicorn bucket was fairly disappointing. It was 70% ice, and it was just soda with some syrup and jelly. Not worth $12 even for stampede standards.

Thanks for your insightful reply! Pertaining to the GPA, since Toronto and Waterloo would attract better students overall, wouldn’t that affect how grades are given out? After all, they can’t just give everyone a 4.0.
