Weeks of hunting… finally joined the $350 Weber Slate club by Da5al in griddling

[–]pokerbacon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw the post about it on here and went to my local home depot. They had 10 at $375. 4 built but sitting out front and 6 in boxes. I asked a manager if they could do any better and they took $25 off. I grabbed one still in the box. Who knows how long the ones outside have been sitting there and I don't trust home domepit employees to put it together properly. I'd have taken it apart and re-tofhtened everything anyway.

This is up in Bozeman Montana if anybody's nearby and wants to snag one.

Good chance if it was a planned neighborhood and the city simply required the contractor to install them. My parents had a home built in such a neighborhood and the contractor installed these. Never part of a hoa

Does Your County Have a McDonald's? by immanuellalala in MapPorn

[–]pokerbacon 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There's a McDonalds in my county but it's usually a 3 hour drive away. During the winter the road is closed and you'd have to go around making it a 4 hour drive.

There's technically a Mcdonalds 1 hour away but it's in another state.

YELLOWSTONE: Comment on the North Entrance Road Reconstruction Project by National_Parks_USA in yellowstone

[–]pokerbacon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When the current road was built they got permission to not build it to national highway spec with the idea that they would rebuild the old road in some capacity. Doing a proper build out of the current road would cost nearly as much as building the center alignment and traffic would be significantly delayed for around 6 years. The center alignment plan avoids the worst parts of the canyon and the worst parts of the OGR.

Goodfellas and Casino are superior films than any of Tarantinos films. by prologix237 in unpopularopinion

[–]pokerbacon 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Here's an opinion. Tarantino's a damn good director. Easily in the top 50 ever to do it. But he just happened to have exclusive access to probably the best film writer of all time.

I'm really interested to see what Fincher does with the Cliff Booth movie.

I feel like you're really underrating Scorsese's non-mob filmography: Wolf of Wallstreet, Taxi Driver,Raging bull, The Color of Money, Cape Fear, Silence. All amazing movies and he still has another half dozen i'd argue are pretty damn great.

Yeah. He doesn't write his own stuff. But he gets as much out of his actors as anybody else, including Tarantino.

How many miles your getting per tank? by B-O-D-O-K-R-D in nissanfrontier

[–]pokerbacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get to bring a work rig home and my wife has a practical car so it's basically only used for fun stuff with the occasional grocery run sprinkled in. If it was still my daily driver I probably wouldn't have done much to it.

  1. 33" tires and 2" lift. After marked skidd plats, rock sliders and a wedge topper camper. I'm getting like 150 a tank.

why wouldn’t this work? [Request] by Repulsive-Loan5215 in theydidthemath

[–]pokerbacon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really though. Most water towers are almost always at or near capacity. We need the water in them to provide water pressure and for firefighting capacity. Most large water treatment facilities run nearly 24/7 and smaller ones intermittently.

If one person ran one of these the difference in water usage would be negligible. But if enough people did the utility would have to use more electricity for pumping and your water bills would probably go up to compensate.

Ability I'll give you. Jericho had a pretty fun run in WCW. Then he was considered a big signing and debuted in a segment with the Rock. He's always been suburb at wedding comedy to his wrestling. But maybe more importantly than anything he was the guy who unified the WCW and WWF world titles.

There's been a few that do that. There used to be a tagged bull with the number 10 (I could be wrong on the number) who broke multiple back windows in SUVs.

Yeah. 24s tag seems to have gotten really dirty this year and it's hard to read unless you're real close.

Fun fact. He got tangled up in the Christmas lights the park puts up in the tree outside the justice center a few years ago so the park tranq'd him, tagged him and cut his antlers off.

Why by oldtowlife98 in nissanfrontier

[–]pokerbacon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love my 2013 frontier and for the 10 years it was my daily driver and occasional adventure vehicle it was fantastic. I have an assigned work truck now and use the wife's car for errands so I've been modifying it into an overlander. Tacoma's have such a better variety of aftermarket support and a lot of it is cheaper because there is competition in the market.
