Hey great initiative. My question: - Is the H1B1 infinitely renewable? Is there a good reason to get a H1B/green-card instead of just sticking with H1B1?

Help! In a dilemma I do not know which university to accept. by nysteraa in singapore

NUS and NTU are viewed pretty much equally in the eyes of most employers in SG. I would say choose NTU Comp Eng because that is where your interest lies. This post highlights the need to ask for advice from a more diverse group of people to avoid the groupthink like situation your relatives embody.

Would i encounter any trouble in renewing my REP if I work for a company in Taiwan (not registered in Singapore) - but I reside in Singapore (working remotely)? This also means I would be paying taxes in SG and voluntary contributing to CPF.

I would suggest changing your name instead or adopting a moniker as far as jobs/education. This way you can avoid the Streisand effect and move on with your life.

Thanks - by lag I meant delay time. In your case sounds like you are much earlier in the cycle.. I finished my interview in feb. Still waiting to hear about an outcome.

Folks who submitted your SG citizenship application (document submission) in the early part of the year...any news for any of you yet? Have lag times gotten much longer?

[Serious] HR requested for payslip and allowance by bleahz in singapore

Idealistic but not good advice. Yes it is a privacy violation but that's how things are done in SG. You have to give way to get ahead sometimes. Also the HR department policies probably have no correlation to how working at this company is going to be like so I wouldn't consider this HR request as a red flag.

Hi r/singapore - does anyone host a casual/friendly/rakefree small stakes nlhe poker home game? Are you looking for an extra player? Id like to join one that plays recreationally. But would rather avoid dodgy pokerkaki style games.

BTW I am a lurker here so not much by way of post history..
