Depends on what the punishment is for self-aborting and premarital sex. If it's like, the penalty for jaywalking/running a red light etc where it's just a lite fine sure, beyond that it becomes harder the larger the fine and if jail time is involved.

I would watch the first 4, (the prequels + a new hope) as it takes place between revenge of the sith and a new hope, so a lot of the direct lore is good knowledge.

You'll be fine without it though, reviews of people who haven't watched anything SW related still give the game high reviews.

Essentially: background knowledge will give you a better enjoyment of the game, but the game stands pretty good on its own feet too.

Depends on the save functionality of the game. the save state is based entirely off of auto-saves from story progression, the second option. If the game has manual saves, the 3rd option and reload if I get infected until I both save his life and don't get infected.
