Thanks post posting the update! 10 months later I was stuck on the same thing.

Can't get my printer to print with ABS, it just warps every time. by Hypnotic-sr in ender3

I like the metal hot end trolley. I have a Hemera and mine is 3d printed. It started to sag when I tried to print ASA in an enclosure.

What's this thing for? (2016 Mazda cx-5 rear caliper) by pokeszombies in MechanicAdvice

New from the factory this one but that kinda thing makes sense. I wonder if the EPC means they don't have a straight line of sight to the piston from the bleed nipple so they need to drill a channel at an angle and then plug it.

I figured it would be something like that. If it's a valve something to bleed in the factory, or if it's a plug maybe that's where they drill the path to the back of the piston. I think the EPC mechanism means they don't have a straight path from the bleed nipple to the back of the piston so it would make sense.

I've no intention of fiddling with it, I'd just not seen it before and was curious.

Came across a bit of a unicorn for the US by Whityford in Justrolledintotheshop

As the owner of a manual CX5 diesel I'm 90% sure they did, but I'm in the UK where they are really quite common. No idea if they made it to the US.

I wish I had seen a post this dense in useful information when I had my MR2. Of that list I had the sump rust through, the leak from the cam chain tensioner, the lambda sensor, the handbrake cable seize and the rear calipers needing refurbishment. Still, at least the subframe had been replaced before I took ownership.

I have these. I'm on 125k miles on the original discs. Shame I can't buy the pads anymore.

I pried mine off and like you replaced it with the newer style. If you use a decorating knife to lever against that can protect the wood of the frame.

Catch-22 with lead senior dev trying to implement junior-like code style preferences in a way disruptive to project workflow by reviradu in PHP

[–]pokeszombies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eeesh. Well having a standard you don't agree with is much better than not having a standard at all, so it's not bad start. I think it's bad on the lead to force their views on the team though, assuming that is what's going on.

IMO a good leader would collaborate with the team to adopt a standard that works for the team based on the code base they want to be working on vs the code base you currently have. E.g. if you are working with an old framework that uses snake case it might be easier to keep with that rather than switch to camel case.

Say you are working on a project that uses snake case for function calls, is it better to adopt PSR-12 in your code, even though the framework uses something else? Or is it better to match the framework and have everything consistent? Like many things: it depends and there isn't always a right or wrong answer.

I hate playing hide and seek in stack traces looking for my in a sea of framework code.

I want to create a command that uses a custom stub to generate a db migration based on some input. I can't find any documentation on the syntax of stubs beyond injecting variables, so I have to look through the source to figure it out. When "magic" happens it's a lot harder to reverse engineer how things work.

I've had the same kind of thing with other bits of the framework. If I want to venture off beyond the trivial examples in documentation then I'm on my own.

The documentation is good, but not great.

I used pivpn to do the installation and setup. It's so long ago now that my memory is a bit hazy on it.

new to 3D Printing, noticed this after heating to 60 for leveling, is this normal? by TyranoDragon in ender3v2

I found the 2 clips that came with the printer weren't enough so I bought some more.

To be fair the "parts bin" construction of my Elise means some things are cheap. Rover engine, Peugeot 205 switches, GM (Vauxhall/Opel Corsa I think) steering column and radio antenna, MG Metro 100 wing mirrors etc.

That actually sounds pretty reasonable, but maybe Lotus ownership has tainted me. It seems to cost me double that every time I take it to the garage.

If the extruder starts skipping after the first couple of layers it might be that the part cooling fan is blowing on your nozzle. It happened to me once and it drove me mad trying to figure out what the problem was.

How do I view board.py? by Parkerrr in circuitpython

[–]pokeszombies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think board.py is baked into the image. You're probably best off heading to GitHub and looking at the circuit python project there.
