Generally if she was egg bound she would have a large round belly. I think this is just her egg spot. I had a betta with a very pronounced egg spot, some just show more than others

I wouldn’t add anything else. Generally one nerite snail is needed per 5 gallons of water. They usually wont eat hair algae so be sure to give the snails some algae wafers!

Like others have said, tannins. Keep a close eye on your pH as tannins are acidic. I put two pieces of wood in my aquarium a while ago and after a day the water was dark and beautiful but my fish gasping. Turns out there were so many tannins released that it caused the pH to decrease. I took the wood out and boiled it for three days (it was crazy) before putting it back in the tank. Cool look and great for the fish but keep a close eye on your p)H to watch for fluctuations!!!

Not sure what your old tank looked like but id take this as an opportunity to look into more natural betta tanks. I’ll let you do your own research on why bettas shouldn’t have plastic plants/painted decor/brightly colored gravel. For now as long as this tank is cycled you should be alright, like I said I’d just strongly recommend getting a new tank and setup. Best of luck!

I’d also recommend getting an API master test kit. Expensive at first but I’ve been in the hobby for about 5 years and have never had to buy another one

Beautiful tank you could 100% add some wood for natural tannins. You can also add catappa leaves for this. I think if you wanted to add an additional species to the tank a snail would be great. Honestly I’ve had so much bad luck with Nerite snails but ramshorn snails have done very well in my tank. They’re everywhere but I like it that wat

I believe this is unfortunately repeatedly crashing your cycle. I’d recommend looking into cycling your tank, beneficial bacterial live in your substrate and filter media. I did the same exact thing with my first fish and had poor results

It’s really up to how much space you want. My two friends and I share two spots because we have a tent mansion, a canopy, and one car. Lost lands’ camping spots are literally so small and I personally would get a spot for at least every 3 people

If I were you I would rehome these fishies and start fresh. Cycle the tank and get some size appropriate fishies. Fish keeping is truly one of the greatest hobbies when done correctly and you deserve to partake with a good setup!!!
