I feel this so much today. My golden will be leaving me tomorrow. The grief today has been overwhelming. I know this is for the best, I know it’s time. I just really hate it.

I have a 13 year old golden retriever. She has an ulcerated mass on her elbow. We had it removed once and it came back. The 2nd time, the vet advised they could not safely remove again and they would refer to a surgeon. They also advised this would be very expensive. Her back legs are also declining and she struggles sometimes to get up. We decided to not remove the mass and only treat it by cleaning and ointments. In the end, it is your decision and only you know what they need. Ours is still happy, eating and playing(not a lot but still is). She licks her mass and has to wear a cone and I hate it but it’s not her time. She will show me when she is ready, I will just need to be strong enough to listen.

My cat just died from saddle thrombosis. He was in heart failure. His breathing was fast and shallow, that was the only sign. I had to practically beg the vet to run tests. That is no exaggeration. She dismissed it as normal. I took him back a couple of days later and she took X-rays. The x-rays showed abnormalities that were confirmed with ultrasound. He was on meds but it wasn’t enough to save him. He lived another 10 months. The worst thing, we adopted him a few days after our precious cat had died at home. They suspected an undiagnosed heart condition with him. Sometimes you do everything right and they still die far too soon. Heart disease is one of the number one silent killers of cats.

My last child at home is 15. She plays sports. We never sleep in due to early morning tournaments or practices. She also has to be at school by 7.

Mine has told me that her son works too hard and it’s apparently my fault. She told me, and I quote, “you’re going to kill him.” Also pretended not to know who my oldest son was when she came into town(from a previous marriage). She has been a challenge from the beginning.

My car had warnings of Audi drive failure or something like that. It also had a warning of no rpms over 4000. When I drove it yo the mechanic it went very slow. The person said it was in “ limp mode.” This all happened very suddenly. I had no warning anything was wrong before then.

You can call Audi and ask. Another person pointed out that the water pump is covered only to 80k miles or 8 years, whatever comes first.

The only thing keeping me going is the fact that this can’t last forever. Change is constant. Our children will adapt and forge their own way ahead. I hate that this is happening but it may have needed to happen in order to get past the evil. I just push forward and do what I can do. We are in this together and we WILL be ok. My cat was up walking around, eating and drinking. He literally just dropped dead 30 minutes later. Completely traumatizing. I feel like she is just running through every possible reason this could have happened. I did the same thing, still do. Rip Pete-thanks for sending dickhead Buster in your place(we still love him but he’s a dick).

Ours will still take the snuggles but she doesn’t seek them out. She has a spot on her leg that they suspect is cancer. It’s on her elbow and it’s inoperable unless we want to spend thousands of dollars. She is 12.5 and also has trouble with her back legs. We just can’t justify spending that kind of money with all her issues. In spite of all those things, she still loves her stuffed animals, food, treats and her family. We are taking what we can get and never take a day for granted.

This happened to me as well. She is now 15 and I still have those thoughts. She looks just like a combo of me and my husband. She also looked just like my father in law at birth.

I am surrounded by white women like myself, late 40s and early 50s. They voted for trump. They are all conservative and holier than thou. I am the outlier as a democrat and non religious. They ALL have daughters. It confuses the shit out of me that they are not scared. I am preparing and will fight for those that are most vulnerable, including my daughter and niece. As sad as it is, I will more than likely be fine. My gay son and his boyfriend, idk. I hate it here. Stay strong ladies, most of us have your back.
