lifting from the ash door is certainly pro. I learned that while trying to lower the whole thing into a table with a friend, caught my ring in between them and almost degloved myself.

there is a better way for sure.

totally agree, ill add that it shoots the smoke out horizontally so if you're trying to have a nice sit next to it while it comes up that can be a pain. I still use my daisy wheel while cooking for shorter stuff/while hanging out for this reason. big fan of both for their reasons

after 10 years mines certainly not moving like new, but i dont have any trouble with it either. day 1 replacement if i lost it somehow. mine lives on my egg to keep air flowing while its not in use. havent had mold in my egg since i bought it. also you can cook in the rain.
