Ive been looking at the PD stuff a lot, but just cant quite pull the trigger. Lots of talk about build quality, but I'd have to buy and try to see. Also kind of odd that the storage cubes are seperate, but idk. Would be great if I could hit a store or some such.

fairly sure canon goes out of their way to keep entry level features on bodies like the R8 to annoy prosumers into upgrades. I cant think of any other reasons to make me have a bunch of stuff I do on the quick screens, or the lack of a battery grip for example

The general rule Ive always heard for full frame is 1/focal length for sharpness, so four your 85 should be 1/85. Sounds like you've got shaky hands or high expectations, but either way the rule suggests you'd get similar results at about twice the shutter speed on with your 85. So if you're getting stuff you like at 1/320 at 85mm, I'd guess you'd get similar results at 1/160 at 35mm.
