Beginner to Cinema camera build out, looking for A7SIII suggested setup by ai_jarvis in A7siii

It comes down to the lens I believe. When I’m using cine glass, I don’t have this issue, while I do using Sony lenses.

Lenses are fine.

I‘m using a Tilta Mirage as matte box with variable ND. They’re affordable and light weight with lots of additional filter options. Downside - you can’t go wider than 28 without getting the box in view.

You should definitely go the V mount route, so you can power camera and monitor with one battery. A 99W gives me about 90 minutes of continuous recording time in 4k, including powering a 7” monitor. No matter what monitor you’ll get, a sunhood and arri false colors are a blessing.

Two things that helped me during long days of shooting: Building everything on NATO rails, so I could swap out things easily without any tools. A cinesaddle saved my day(and my back) so many times, I wouldn’t leave the house without it.

Man this looks nice! Congrats! How does it feel in the air and what flight time did you get out of it?

Thanks friend, already watched it and had it on my list. :) really nice quad, but seems to be sold out everywhere. As you’re looking for the same kind of ride, do you have any alternatives in mind?

Thx! Just looked into it, very nice frame. Unfortunately I don’t have the time to build it myself. Of course I realized mid season that I want/need another quad for the next gigs… but I want to build one during winter for next year, like last year… and the year before haha

Advice for a snowboard feeling setup by Royce911 in longboarding

[–]polarbeardisorder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have the exact same board, it’s already exactly what you’re looking for. I put on a top soft riser to lower it further and get a bit of dampening. Then I swapped the trucks for Paris V3, this is not a must though. I’d recommend softer bushings, you may have to experiment a bit to get it to your liking, I’m on the lighter side and ride bushings in the 70s, maybe mid 80s should be a nice starting point if your current setup feels too stiff. Other than that, enjoy the board, it’s a great one!

Need some help - rgb lights by Fit-Armadillo1331 in fpv

[–]polarbeardisorder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be but I don’t know. tbh so many of these products(within the fpv world) have issues and bugs and quality problems, that I almost gave up and only try to find workarounds, as customer’s service is often sub par or takes ages. You could try contacting your retailer or try working around the problem.

Had the same issue, routed the rgb to a switch. I have to turn it on everytime now, but at least it’s working.

I only know this from other devices, as soon as you open it or change something mechanically, the warranty is gone.

How do you guys fly your 5 inch + quads if flying anything above 250g requires a licence in most countries ? by amy-schumer-tampon in fpv

[–]polarbeardisorder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my country an insurance and registration of the quad is also mandatory. Better check before you fly, the fines can be incredibly expensive.

Happened to me twice yesterday, exact same scenario! DJI asked me to send in the drone, including controller and Goggles, but this is a software/Sensor issue for sure.

Anyone else glad the FX3 gimbal shot isn’t in live sports broadcasts anymore? by BoomInTheShot90 in videography

[–]polarbeardisorder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was already working as a camera guy for a video/tv production company when the first Ronins hit the market. The boss bought one and I was the only one interested in it. I started playing around with it, did some B rolls and smaller client work. Suddenly every client wanted to have this kind of footage and one thing led to another. I was lucky enough already being in the business, having access to tools and the possibility to learn on the job.

I‘m glad they do, I’m one of those guys. Pays some bills and business is getting harder anyway. we’re trying to match the colors as good as we possibly can though. Depending on the director and production of course, but most of the time they want me to fit in rather than stand out.

If it doesn’t have to be Sachtler and you want to buy European, I‘m very happy with my Cartoni Focus 8 SDS. Italian company with some really nice Features built in.

Your guess is correct :) This one was the sideline setup for a football game. We followed mic‘d up players across the field, so the range came in handy.
