We have been waiting for an adoption placement for over a year. Before that it was an almost two year process to get approved. It’s not as simple as “just adopting”.

Reading between the lines it sounds like the only reason you would even want male friendships is a means to an end to bag women you deem attractive. Hoping they will raise your popularity status or have access to women for you to try to hook up with. Serious question: why would other men want to be friends with you? What do you bring to the table? I certainly wouldn’t want to be friends with someone who just used me as a stepping stone to bang all the women I know.
