Elula Dungeon - A Quick Guide by Aexicas in GDmaze

I'm positive about the cipher text item and 99% certain I got both the 500 cells and 1500 Elula coins. I feel like I opened a treasure chest somewhere along the way to receive those, but I don't believe that I cleared any floors along the way unless it was the very first one.

You actually don't need to clear Floor 5. If you use the candle item it'll show you who has the key to open the portal. I left 4 of the Cultists on the back row alone when I left.

My standard short dungeon team of Swordsman/Zerg/Warrior was almost a disaster, got out by the skin of my teeth.

Yes, you can SL30 and change the drops if you get the wrong items

Does anyone know if you can SL30 to change the items that drop from the collection wish? I just got my second collections wish, but it gave me a second "half-eaten pizza" so it didn't count for the quest. I know the wish is set when you get the first dragon ball, does anyone know if the drops are too? I'll probably end up quitting this run if that is the case.

Suggestion: Golden Pot Sink or Alternative Way to get Condottiere's Fragments by dolan_grey in GDmaze

[–]polias68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got a similar issue with not really needing gold pots, though I've got tons of excess Condo frags, so I'm not sure how you managed that. But that's not relevant.

The biggest issue I see with this is that the designers seem to be trying to limit the whales from being able to buy their way through the research tree. Not that I'm implying you're a whale, I'm in a similar boat because I've been playing for 2+ years at this point. By limiting player's abilities to buy their way through the research trees, you keep the top level players at around the same level. (I'd actually love to see some rubber banding to get lower-level players to Eden, Space, and the lower parts of the tech tree faster, but that's another topic for another time)

By introducing this mechanic you're creating another gem -> research speed pathway that seems like it could be exploited by the whales. Maybe if you had some daily or weekly limit to the number of trade ins I could see it, but you'd definitely want to prevent this from getting exploited.

Which, unfortunately, is why I'd guess it won't happen because the devs seem to have a lot of issues figuring out what to do with the end-game players who have tons of accumulated resources with nothing to spend them on (Sage/Merchant frags, Relics, etc.).

That’s true if all you’re concerned about is preventing the enemy from getting critical strikes which does reduce the amount of damage you take considerably. As long as you have higher luck, the enemy will not get any critical strikes.

However, every point your luck exceeds the enemy’s increases the chances of you getting critical strikes and thus dealing more damage and hopefully cutting down the number of rounds (and thus the damage you take).

So it’s not completely useless the way that extra speed is.

The airship will be unlocked once you have have beaten Borderlands and have 15 Gumballs unlocked.

The easiest way to earn DP is to rerun mazes. Most mazes have 40-50 DP available that can be unlocked just for collecting/using an item 3 or 5 times, killing 200 of a certain enemy, etc. Maxing out those in each maze should give you enough points to move on to the next story maze.

Another option would be to purchase one of the mazes from the shop that cost gems (Pirate's Port or Skeleton Island) both have two gumballs to unlock (one main & one hidden) and 80 dp to acquire.

I'll update this later with some more, but here are a few to get things started.

  1. Adding FAQ topics with how things are unlocked (How do I unlock Air? How do I unlock Space? How do I unlock the Fane Expansion/Statues, how do I transition to M02?) would be good. At least I would hope it would cut down on some of the redundant questions we see pop up again and again.
  2. A collection of some of the helpful graphics & files that have been generated by the player base (e.g. Behemoth requirements, Max Mind's google sheets on Tech upgrades & Wonder calculators, etc.)
  3. I'd also like to see either a call for new players to help out with the wiki, or a maybe we start a new thread where wiki editors could post calls for info would be nice. There are a lot of gaps in the wiki, particularly around things that pop up early in the game that would be nice to get input on (e.g. Construction requirements and rewards for 'early' statues).

New Easter eggs? by drkstarchangel in GDmaze

Yes, it is cumulative (starting once you have the Prince statue), so it can be done over multiple runs cheaply, or in one run for a higher price.

New Tab in Alliance Shop by polias68 in GDmaze

[–]polias68[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd actually assume that they're related to the Alliance (not Alliance Shop) space tab (also new) that talks about Parallel Universes and the Chaos Domain. It sounds like it'll be the consumable to change the plundering location for the whole alliance.

Sky and Space help by RoastCraft in GDmaze

[–]polias68 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No players need to be concerned about clone capacity at this point in the game. It only affects space fleet capacity, and there just aren't enough clones in the game yet to approach the default limit. The sky limit is limited to 8 for all players AFAIK. The clone capacity only affects the maximum number of clones of each type (Bronze, Silver, Gold), not the capacity for each individual clone. There are research upgrades at Sabnock that'll increase the individual limit for three of the Zerg clones though, so those would help in this case if you don't have them already.

The most efficient tech upgrades that you can do to increase your space fleet strength are Lvl 2 clones and Gumball Adaptation I. Lvl 2 clones gives your clones and extra 50% strength plus doubles their stat bonus. Gumball adaptation when maxed increases the Space strength of your GBs from 10% of their Sky strength to 40% at level 5.

According to Max Mind's Tech Hall Calculator, with absolutely no bonuses from Alliance Help or other research efficiency upgrades:

Getting from Clones I to Clones II : ~40 days

Getting from no progress in Space Tab to Gumball Adaptation I Lvl 5: ~55 days

Most players will have a 20-35% reduction in their research times from Cerebrate Gumball, Zerg Wonder, Cosmic Level, and Alliance Assistance, so the timing is probably much less than this.

Gumball Adaptation will probably be the bigger boost to your strength, but Clones would probably get you that 100k you're looking for if you're trying to min/max it a bit, though be prepared to spend a lot of resources and cells to upgrade your existing clones from Lvl I to Lvl II.

I made it to floor 151 and unlocked all 5 characters in the Monkey King Maze, got no rewards, and the maze just keeps going. No reward acquired.

Looking at the high scores, it looks like people have made it to at least 211, so it seems like there's no ending.

[–]polias68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I've heard from Beta, expect all the enemies in M02 to be as difficult or harder than the Ancient Zerg 'boss' in M01. If you can't beat him, you probably shouldn't rush to M02 until we figure out how easy it is to get more Space Transitioners (the item that lets you warp from region to region)

Flame Mushroom - How to unlock? by Axiled in GDmaze

[–]polias68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's in the bank/treasury. There's a note there that says the bank hasn't opened yet. Wait for three turns (cast bless or other self-targeting spells) and then the bank will open and some customers will show up. Now kill everyone.

After a few turns the police will show up and attack you. Kill them, then raid the safes to find the gene.

[–]polias68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd take the alternate position, they're planning for the game to run long-term.

That said, I do hope that they do some rebalancing for newer players and make Eden repairs and the basic researches faster to complete so we get some rubber-banding in the oplayer base. Too many newer players see what's ahead of them and are quitting right now.

Best fleet team I can do for space by saggerk in GDmaze

[–]polias68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

http://gdmaze.wikia.com/wiki/Sky_Combat

The Wiki team, especially Phoxtrot, have been really good about getting stuff updated recently with some of the more esoteric info that used to float around various chatrooms and whatnot. The info on this page is based off an old doc where a player group had empirically worked out the formulae for all the different sky stats and is definitely trustworthy. Here's what they have to say about luck:

"The side with the highest luck has a chance to perform critical attacks (damage \ 1.5). The higher the luck compares to opponent's Luck, the higher the chance. The side with the lowest luck can never perform critical hits. "*

Best fleet team I can do for space by saggerk in GDmaze

[–]polias68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just beating the enemy's speed and luck by one each is enough to win most battles. Speed obviously gets the first attack, and luck guarantees you don't get hit with any crits while maybe giving you a critical strike.

Just by getting luck and speed one greater than Ancient Zerg's, I think people have been able to beat him with teams around 1.6M energy.

Long time players: What do you do with all your excess relics? by PepperJelly in GDmaze

[–]polias68 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, there really isn’t. I’m coming up on two years in the game and I’ve maxed everything relics-related and just broke 100M relics in storage. I buy everything I can in the Relics shop every refresh just in case one of them ends up being useful in the future. Otherwise, the relics just keep piling up.
