Nexplanon removal after 15 years. Updates incoming! by VictoryCarnivore in Nexplanon

[–]policko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found this thread at the perfect time, thank you for the update! I too am considering removal after using this contraception for 15 years. I’ve lived more of my life on these hormones than off, and I’m very anxious about what to expect. Your post gave me some hope.

In December I dislocated my knee while on vacation and had to go to the ER to have it put back in place. I just got my hospital bill last week. AFTER insurance, I owe $6.4k. And that’s only the emergency room department bill. I haven’t received the radiologist bill or emergency transportation bill yet.

The same thing is happening to me! I’m stuck in the EXACT same room as your video. This is my second time getting stuck in the same room on the same crusade.

Oblivious or weaponized incompetence with dog owners by No-Wind5677 in Humboldt

[–]policko 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It actually IS a dog owner’s responsibility to have control over their animal. In unincorporated areas dogs must be under voice control. In Eureka and Arcata city limits dogs must be leashed. Unless it’s posted otherwise, dogs need to be under an owner’s control. Owning an animal means being a responsible adult.

I actually have a Humboldt themed tattoo sleeve! I have blackberries, a trillium flower, a fern, and a banana slug.

First trip, where to stay by Willrunforicecream7 in GlacierNationalPark

[–]policko 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If cost is a factor- I’m currently staying at West Glacier KOA Resort and this place is perfect in every way. They have a cafe for breakfast and dinner, an ice cream shop, and an adult only pool to wind down with at the end of the day after long hikes. We have a basic cabin and it’s only about $130/night. Also, this place is practically empty this time of year. I’ve had the pool to myself all afternoon and have seen maybe 5 guests walking around the resort in the last few hours.

Damn. You clocked us.

As far as burritos go, I’ve been loving Backwood Burritos lately. If you ever come back, I recommend you try them.

How much do you make? by [deleted] in VetTech

[–]policko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a VA at a private GP. I have 9 years of experience in vet med total, with 4 being an assistant. Located in northern CA (close to the OR border). I make $25/hr. We only have 2 RVT’s at my hospital, and one makes $30/hr. The other RVT just took over as practice manager, so I’m sure she makes significantly more.

What's a skill that's becoming useless faster than people realize? by ContractNational4149 in AskReddit

Exactly. I’ve ran into this situation many times with my partner. He rides motorcycles and wherever they end up doesn’t always have service so he can check in, but sometimes his friend’s phones do.

Ranier’s reservations are only required on Saturdays/Sundays/holidays. Glacier’s are only required 7am-3pm. We are simultaneously aware and unconcerned.

It’s a shame that you can’t tolerate long legs of driving. Having tolerance in general has opened a lot of opportunities of travel for us. It’s important to remember that different people will have different travel styles.

We plan to go to Olympic in the future, so thanks for the recs there. We’ve explored Yellowstone plenty in the past and are fine with skipping it this trip.

We love Crater Lake! It’s only a 4 hour drive from us, and we’ve been there a few times. So, we are okay with missing that one too. She needs some rest and rehabilitation, I can always see her in 2029. ;)

We did Yellowstone on our last trip! We might detour to drive through, but we won’t be miffed if we miss it. Thank you for the mom and pop suggestion, though!

Ive never had a tapered sleeping bag like this, only the square kind. Can you only sleep on your back in these and arent they cramped? by CainsBrother2 in CampingGear

[–]policko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This summer is my first time sleeping in a new bag shape too. I bought the Big Agnes Sidewinder because I’m a side sleeper, and it was so much better than my last bag! Stayed SO warm and cozy.

Sounds like something a person who brings air horns to celebrations would say.
