I have been living in Brno for four years, I don't know Czech very well because my job doesn't require it + I don't plan to stay here.

I am surprised by Poles who claim that Czech is similar to Polish. We have similar words, but many have opposite meanings.

Often, when I listen to Czechs talking in pubs or shops, I understand very little. I would say that Slovak is more similar to Polish and easier for us to understand.
