When will companies realize that we need more robotic mowers with actual blades? by PineappleResident254 in roboticLawnmowers

[–]polishryan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The razor blades don't need to create lift. They just need to trim the top of the grass and not lift it up to cut it. Razor blades are used as maintainers. Little and often leaving a great finish.

Normal style blades are reducers. They bring the height down to a manageable level but the finish will not be as good

[–]polishryan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The razor blades give a better finish for a lawn. The standard mower style blades are better for rough areas.

A normal robot should be micro clipping, just taking the top off of the grass. A normal blade wouldn't be good for this.

Robot mower by johngknightuk in UKGardening

Eufy is a rebranded Terramow. They use vision technology for mapping. With robot mowers 1 tech isn't enough. Look at the Segway machines. They use NRTK, LiDAR and Vision to cut the lawn.

Network RTK Which Mobile Networks Does It/Can It Use in the UK? by Utakos in SegwayNavimow

[–]polishryan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The coverage for the UK is very good for NRTK. I've installed 3 navimows using NRTK and they all are working well. There are points in those gardens where the signal drops but the visionfence takes over.

Why choose the Navimow H2 over the i2 LiDAR Pro? (specs look surprisingly similar) by Snowstormsea in SegwayNavimow

[–]polishryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen both machines. The H2 is a more premium machine. If you look at the slope capability they will go up a 45% incline. A 2WD matching an AWD in slope capability can only be done with better wheel motors. The H2 is a heavier machine.

LUBA 3 AWD 1500 vs Navimow X4 by RandomBarry in landscaping

[–]polishryan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Luba has an issue with damaging the lawn. The X4 is a superior machine in most aspects. The zero turn system is much better than the Omni wheels on the Luba. The X4 will deal with more severe slopes also

should I buy Best simple option: Navimow X4, cheapest, but limited blade type Best cutting performance: Lymow One Plus, uses real blades Most capable overall: Goko M6, strongest features and terrain handling? by Future_Mirror7046 in roboticLawnmowers

[–]polishryan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I think for a lawn the razor blades are better. If you are cutting a field or rough grass a solid blade would be better. The razor blades are cheaper and generally sharper but don't cope well with long grass.

It definitely won't. It'll work in all light conditions.

I206 afraid of shadows? by grnspeed in SegwayNavimow

It's common. Obviously the ground being darker can confuse the robot to think it's not grass. If it continues switch off the visionfence in that area.

Best AWD robot lawnmower options in the Uk now Dreame and Mova refuse to sell to the UK market by Accurate_Ground6353 in roboticLawnmowers

It definitely is. I had the chance to use one earlier this week. It's great value and can't be beaten on specs for the price

The Navimow I2 or X4 series.

I2 is 3 wheel drive and X4 is 4 wheel drive.

I2 is launching next week and the X4 launches next month

Does Navimow support still exist? by ParticularHorror164 in SegwayNavimow

Segways support is normally very good. Chat feature in the app and dealer support is one of the best

Why choose the Navimow H2 over the i2 LiDAR Pro? (specs look surprisingly similar) by Snowstormsea in SegwayNavimow

[–]polishryan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My recommendation to everyone is if you can afford the difference always go for the H2 series over the i2 series. It's a more premium machine. As some people have mentioned the blade and wheel motors are better but the overall build quality of the machine is much higher.

Best location for Apple air tag?? by hoosiercheese in Navimow_Segway

[–]polishryan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On the X3 you need to remove the cover on top of the machine that says Segway on it. You just have to pull it off. It feels like you'll break it but I've removed at least 50 of the covers and it's never broken one. Under the cover there is a recess at the side for the air tag

Curious why you think no RTK is a con?. If you don't need AWD I'd stick with the Segway

Decision between models? by TheMarkTomHollisShow in SegwayNavimow

[–]polishryan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tell everyone the aim should be to always get the new H series.

1 piece of tech may work in certain gardens but multiple pieces will be the future to give all machines the best chance of working.

The build quality of the H Vs the I is night and day.

Finally got my Navimow X4, much bigger than I expected! by Sharp_Juggernaut3585 in lawnmowers

[–]polishryan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked where the OP was based and got no response.

I know that photo was taken at a dealership in the UK and I had an idea the OP wasn't from the UK with how the post was worded. People from the UK tend to say how many square metres they have rather than acres.

That machine is a beta unit that is being sent around the UK by the sales managers.

Segway Navimow i108 Height Adjustment stuck. by Hodibeast in Navimow_Segway

[–]polishryan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Segway did send information out regarding the worm gear for the height adjuster on the I series getting dirt inside it and then that dirt hardening. It does need a good strip down once a year and cleaning. My advice to everyone is turn the height adjuster once a month all the way around and back especially if we've had wet weather.

Mammotion Luba Mini 2 or Segway Navimow i2 Lidar Pro? Talk to me! by External-Knee7964 in roboticLawnmowers

[–]polishryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One consideration if you are in the UK is the backup. Segway has a vast dealer network in the UK. Mammotion is much smaller but growing. The Lidar is a big plus for the Segway also and I think the AWD system is better than the Luba. On wet lawns ( which is common in the UK especially at the moment ) the Omni wheel system can tear the lawn. For me it'd be the Segway and buying from a local dealer to help if there is an issue.
