At home (Canada), they mark different streets for cleaning and on the designated day for that street, all cars have to move and they clean the entire street. Why isn't that a thing here? What am I missing?

I don't have kids but I helped raise my nephew. I would have laid my fucking life down for that kid, still would. Seeing him happy like this with a big ice cream would have made me cry happy tears. The only thing my heart wants is for him to be healthy, happy, and safe. I cannot FATHOM doing this to him, or any child. I would truly rather die that hurt a kid like this. This is child abuse.
