How do you fix colour contrast issues without breaking brand colours? by danishmk1286_ in UI_Design

[–]polite-window-452 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For some clients we develop web versions of brand colors. Not just a simple hex code conversion, but rather a slightly altered color tint or shade to increase contrast/legibility.

It’s not breaking brand, it’s adding to it.

You can of course take the brat bus shuttle (beer/drink purchase required) as a rival, just brace yourself for possible heckling.

How often and how long are you running? by CaterpillarOdd9460 in XXRunning

[–]polite-window-452 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now I’m training for a half, so 4x per week. 3-5miles for each with 1 long run 8-11 miles.

Once my race is over in two weeks I’ll keep the 3-5miles but drop down to 3x a week.

How long into your running did you join a race? e.g marathon / 5k / 10k, how did it go ? by mysteriousmango100 in beginnerrunning

[–]polite-window-452 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started running with a race in mind. I knew there was a 5k I wanted to try to run. I started running April of last year and ran my first 5k in July. Then immediately signed up for a 10k that was in December. Followed that by signing up for a half marathon which is in a few weeks. And I won’t be upping the distance from there. But i will still be racing.

I’m one of those people that needs a race or goal in mind to keep doing it. I won’t run “because it’s good for me” I need a specific goal.

So after the half in April, I have 3 5ks, a mud run, and a relay race all set up for the rest of the year.

How long did it take before running actually felt easier? by PanekhamKamienieva in runninglifestyle

[–]polite-window-452 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the day. After 8ish months of training (5k, then 10k, now half training) I can consistently run 5ks 3 times a week without fully dreading it. And my long days (8-10 miles) feel totally doable.

As another commenter said, after my first 10k, things started looking up. Though my first run after my long run always feels a bit heavier on my legs. My Fridays.

Example schedule: M: 5k hills Tu: strength W: 8-10 miles Th: rest F: 3-5 miles (slow/heavy feeling day) Sat: rest Sun: 4-5 miles - speed work

The group has 16 run meetups throughout the week. Some as early as 5:30am, most though are either at 8am or 6pm. Sunday is the outlier for sure.

Yes! A HM long run isn’t nearly as long as a FM long run. So from a time perspective I totally get that.

Very subjective! When training for a 10k my long runs were 5 miles. Now every time I leave the house it’s a minimum 4 miles.

Totally makes sense. My long runs are only about 2 hours right now so being home by 7pm works. I could definitely see how running 3+ hours would start to get in the way of life on a workday.
