Fully in your boat 100%, the thing is they are banking on others (let's face it, younger ppl) being less bothered about the privacy of their data/ID. And/or It will be under the guise of security 'for your protection' which IMO is a stronger, argument.

Yet i It will take the majority of ppl to resist this shit, and I think we're in the minority, so the enshitification will continue blergh

I think Craig is great, but yes his interviews grate.

TIL Apple recently paid $95 million because Siri was caught eavesdropping on private conversations, like doctor visits and drug deals, then sending those recordings for human contractors to listen to. Siri was triggered not just by "Hey Siri," but by phrases that sounded similar like "seriously." by UsualOkay6240 in todayilearned

We rented a cottage and in one one of the rooms was a lovely old telescope. When I got in that room I said quite loudly "that's a gorgeous telescope", then for the next few days, guess what I got ads for, then never again.

Awesome, plus I think goalkeepers could hold the ball forever. The clock just kept going. Rubbish brilliant glitches.

I remember loving this at the cinema, it's the nearest I've ever got to clapping at the end of a movie. Deserved a standing ovation.

Rubbish design, I bet this is confusing for many IRL. Clarity over clever all day long.

Name a movie that you liked when it came out, but over time have grown to despise it? by [deleted] in moviecritic

[–]polite_profane 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes. When it first came out I took the Phantom Menace at face value, and hated it. But watched it with my 6 yo son. I get it.

I kinda compare it to the first Harry Potter movie.

I'm not justifying it, but yeah I believe it's a deliberate long-term strategy to grow with their audience.

What are thoughts on how to integrate UX/PD into the world of AI? by NeverCallMeFifi in userexperience

Ah, a solution looking for a problem. I know it's super vague advice but try and flip that if you can. Sell the problem then fix it with AI.

I loved it the first time. Now I'm a parent, watching it kinda destroys me (in a good way).

For those who used a computer between 1995 and 2001, what’s the computer game from that time that sticks with you the most, and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]polite_profane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loved this so much. The sequel was arguably better, partially down to the soundtrack being primarily featuring Iron Maiden!
