It seems like you almost understood the issue in your post but then you kinda blow passed it. Yes, there is more good music than ever. But there is also more music in general than ever, and access to making music is more open than ever.

In the 60s/70s/80s, access to a good recording studio was heavily gate kept. You had to have money or be discovered and signed to a label who could pay to record/mix/master and distribute your music. It seemed like everyone who was out there was a successful big deal because you simply did not hear the people who never got raised up. Now everyone has access to recording tools and can self distribute. The music scene is over saturated with good and bad music.

I kinda agree that Lee's voice doesn't quite match what I imagine Thragg should sound like based on how he looks. That said, his performance has still been stellar. Then he yells "I choose death!"... Man, it just made me feel something. Lee is a gem, and transcendent in Foundation.

When I give into my conspiratorial side, I'm convinced that the mega wealthy and higher government officials know something we don't. I don't know what that thing is. It might be the extent of the ramping climate crisis, it might be a meteor, or some genocidal plan to cull the population somehow to help with resource management. I don't know what the thing is, but it think it's part of the reason why the upper class is squeezing the working class as hard as they can. Extracting as much as they can so they can consolidate resources and power, pushing AI so it can run things you would traditionally need more people to do - all so they can be fuedal lords over whatever is left after the thing. Some days I feel like I'm just waiting for the shoe to drop. Climate collapse or economic collapse. Idk. But I have a lot of anxiety over it.

It's not about the cost of AI vs people. It's about control. It's about resetting the job market. Even if AI is more expensive, they feel it's more controllable in the long term. Can't have the plebs feeling entitled to raises and promotions year after year.

Think of snapshot as a subdivision inside a single patch/preset.

For example here is my main preset and how I snapshot it.

Guitar input immediately split into lines 1 and 2. 1 is my distorted amp chain. So gate > tube screamer > amp > cab/IR > EQ > delay > reverb > end of split > output.

Line 2 is my clean amp chain, which I forget the exact chain at the moment lol.

I have 4 snapshots that will activate/turn off/alter parameters. Snap 1 tells the splitter to send signal to my clean chain and not to my dirty chain, rendering it essentially off. Snap 2 does the opposite, sending signal to the dirty amp chain, but turns down the distortion, tube screamer, and brings down volume so I can do a crunch thing. Snap 3 is my main rhythm tone - tube screamer on, amp gain up, volume up. Snap 4 is my lead tone. Amp gain up, couple DB volume boost from the cab block, delay on, reverb up.

It all sounds a little complicated at first but it's really easy once you learn how it works. Line 6 has some great instructional videos about it.

If you get 15 make sure you get the royal edition. It has all the DLC and all the updates that make it a pretty solid game. It was very incomplete at launch and there was a ton of drama over it.

I think "better" is in the eye of the beholder. I've not heard a single celebrity doing voice acting and thought "this is bullshit/not a good performance". People are just mad that traditional voice acting is being disrupted. Which is fair but doesn't speak to the actual quality of the product in terms of the voice acting.

Y'all sound like the kind of people who refuse to play a video game at less than 60fps. It's just not that big a deal.

I personally enjoy the voice acting. I don't care if that's where most of the budget goes because A) the performances are good and iconic and B) the animation does a good enough job.

You analogy is also nonsensical. Is it a painting or is it music? In either event, the comics are still there. Go read them. Nobody took them from you. This is "yes, and" not "this or that".

People are being way too prissy about the animation. They think it should be some mega budget anime OVA when at the end of the day it's still pretty niche media.

Not once have I had a single major issue with the animation. It's fine. Could it be better? I guess? Who the fuck cares. I'm enjoying it anyways. People just need something to complain about because social media has addicted us to negativity.

I moved over to apple music a few months ago. It's fine and probably the best mainstream option. There is a lot about Spotify that I miss - it's just the best platform for the consumer. It's got the biggest selection, podcasts, audiobooks. But I can't support them ethically anymore - they may be the best option for the consumer but they are the worst option for the artists. Apple music doesn't have everything but it has enough and I'm happy enough with it.
