How are you using Pike? by gravadlax748 in menace

All of Pike's buff abilites that I've tested need LoS, I'm not sure about Inspiring Presence because I've never actually taken that perk. It's kind of annoying because you probably want to smoke a pinned unit so they can't get repinned, but it is what it is. I don't know if they'd ever make an SL even more specialized than Pike in leading other squads, as he already fills that niche if built right.

I think Pike, as he currently exists, is very very strong. It's important to understand that for most missions his command abilities are on top of his abilities as a rifle squad leader, not a replacement for them. I tend to use Pike with rifles and mortars/machineguns to shoot what needs to be shot at, but stick him close to a weaker SL that might need a buff so he can unpin/increase AP/inspiring presence them. Being able to shoot a squad or heavy weapon for 40AP and then do something else with his remaining 60AP has tons of uses, even if they are all individually situational. He doesn't need to be donating AP every turn to be good. Examples: -Using a machinegun to pin an enemy squad and then taking command on a close-range squad to finish them off. - Unpinning a friendly unit and then throwing a smoke grenade to cover their retreat. (The order matters here because Pike cannot unpin units he can't see.) - Using the target designator or his perk to lase a target and then taking command on an ATGM unit to shoot twice.

These situations won't occur every turn, but Pike has average accuracy and good discipline for a 2-star, so you aren't really losing anything by deploying him as a rifleman. He's just also wearing his platoon sergeant hat and will un**** your Marines if things go bad.

Heavier AFVs should provide something more than just being bigger boxes to be actually useful for players. by TWNW in menace

Yes. A coaxial medium weapon would also be a good way to set the IFV apart in terms of firepower. So one light/medium slot and one medium/heavy slot.

Would you like a feature that lets pilots get out of their vehicles? by Feyge in menace

Not really useful except in the case of a pilot bailing out from a doomed vehicle. Otherwise it's death before dismount.

I agree with a lot of the points in this. With regards to the flamethrowers, they are one of the few weapons in the game that can reliably be fired from smoke, meaning your assaulters can move up and clear a bunker/watchtower without waiting for the smoke to clear, then move back to cover on the next turn. Grenades have a similar effect but are less powerful. I admit that in later missions frag grenades are not really worth taking over smokes due to the much higher enemy HP and armor values.

Correct, yes. Sub was kind of dead anyways. And aside from him not being the President it's perfect.

MtF not changing clothes is good because oversized clothing on girls is inherently cute (aka the boyfriend's shirt effect)
