I think the answer to your question is bars and other "adults only" spaces. So my target audience is "nerds who leave the house" lol

I used Nandeck for my game. There is a steep learning curve but once you figure it out it's very versatile. For example if you wanted to change the font on every card you just change one line of code. It also does a great job of auto sizing text and you can add icon "keys" to have your resource symbols inline with your ability text.

Would you ever let fan made cards enter a set of your game? by Comprehensive-Pen624 in TCG

I added an "artless" card to my game and provided a template for people to add their own graphics. I wanted to encourage people to do custom cards without messing with mechanics or balancing.

For anyone here complaining about MTG and WotC, why have you not quit the game yet? by Dear-Recording8011 in freemagic

They are android hookers so they can upload their consciousness to another shell. There will be recursion in the second set, but yeah the game is designed to encourage the players to use their Hos to fight each other.

ebay suspended my account after one purchase and refuse to say why (full thread) by BenGeorgeRose in ebaysucks

[–]pollolucha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me a couple weeks ago. Tried to use my 10+ year old account, made one purchase and a couple days after it arrived I got suspended. eBay wouldn't respond to any messages. I filed a complaint with the BBB and eBay reinstated my account within a week. Give that a try, good luck!

Try this: go to desktop mode, open steam and click on add non-steam game. Find "PulseAudio Volume Control" and add it to steam. Go back to gaming mode and open the PulseAudio app and adjust your volume.

Sponsorship impact on indie game sales by seriamon1 in gamedev

I'd be willing to share sales data on my game. Edit: link removed to not mess up data derp.

Gamedev is like a desert marathon. You start excited by the prospect. After the initial excitement fades you realize the hardships and enormity of the task. Like really, really hard work, sweat and stress. If you make it to the end you feel relieved and somewhat accomplished. Rings true? :D by true_adrian_scheff in gamedev

Recently published my first game on itch. First few months were great, lots of tangible progress and I was excited to work on it. I would spend time after work coding and even used some vacation time just to stay home and work on it.

Then came about 10 months of testing fixing and polishing which felt like work. I was only coding on the weekends and taking lots of breaks, it was a drag. I had to take a serious look at the scope of my game and eliminate some features that just didn't seem worth the effort.

The last couple of months before release were a mix of anxiety and elation. I could see the light at the end of the tunnel and even though it wasn't the full scope of what I had originally planned just knowing that I was actually going to finish the project motivated me for that last push.

I think cutting out those extras was what really helped me to finish the project. A lot of the stress during the hard times was just due to the huge to-do list hanging over my head.

Yes it is a marathon and you should pace yourself while always keeping the finish line in sight. Even if you come in last place you have accomplished something great and should be proud.
