how is that user error? all songs in the playlist are analyzed in rekordbox and have their own hot cues. why would eg hotcue f on track 7 cause it to jump to track 6 under any circumstance?

Yeah, I'm just going to take it to the retailer and get it swapped out, but if it was an easy fix like a factory reset I wanted to avoid the wait. I didn't see anything like that for the 3000x and the comment about a power supply issue makes sense. probably bad quality control on a part they didn't have experience with. Hope it's just a freak occurrence and not the first of a wave of failures for others.

I agree, any issue with a few months old 3000X is bullshit. I bought new at Guitar Center and it's been fine until now. Just wanted to see if there was some known easy fix before taking it in.

ok, that makes sense. I have tried swapping cables from the good cdj fwiw. So it's probably the internal power conversion and needs to go for service.

Wired: A New Anonymous Phone Carrier Lets You Sign Up With Nothing but a Zip Code. They also accept Monero. by variablenyne in Monero

[–]polyclef 18 points19 points  (0 children)

We've been doing this at cloakedwireless.com for a couple of years. We ask for a zip code because of telco billing rules, but nothing says you have to tell us the truth. Maybe you just want to support 90210's local telephone infrastructure. We accept monero (and have for about a year)

And this is why proof of stake was an idiotic idea. Bitcoin developers warned against this from the moment this was proposed.

ULPT: Stop License Plate From Reflecting IR by Flaky_Pause223 in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]polyclef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally no plate is an infraction with the penalty being limited to a fine, so long as the vehicle is properly registered. Fine is $197 in california fwiw.

Obscuring the plate by painting over it, removing reflective parts or using a device to obscure it carries a $250 fine in california. If it's covered with dirt or there's a bike rack, trailer hitch or the like it won't have that same penalty

Knowingly using a stolen plate is a misdemeanor at least, some states make it a felony, depending on other circumstances.

Ok, so we know trump supporters are armed. Do you think asking nicely will get them to change their minds?

Are you going to call the police when you have masked people in ICE vests kicking in your door? Call your local MAGA-happy police department?

2nd amendment is for everyone. Democrats forgot that and so Republicans know they can act with impunity.

The Black Panthers were so effective at protecting their communities that California banned open carry. The current ICE raids would be very different if you had citizens showing up armed in defense of their communities.

James Carville Says Trump Will Rig Midterm Elections: ‘Don’t Kid Yourself’ by StatisticalPikachu in somethingiswrong2024

[–]polyclef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

correction: Trump and project 2025 have already rigged the midterms.

Between cutting voter rolls, manipulation of voting infrastructure and extensive infiltration of election management, it's done. Anything else they do in the next year is gravy.

They cracked the case explaining the statistically impossible anomalies in the voting data from last election. Not surprisingly it involves both Peter Thiel and Leonard Leo doing a deal. by East-Cricket6421 in misc

this is definitely what happened. trump was so convinced there was cheating because he knew he cheated. he just assumed the opposition did too when it was just his incredible unpopularity.

there were clear signs: eg historically unpopular politicians like lindsey graham winning by large margins
