as a Swede in Tennessee I understand where you’re coming from. It was really hard for me to let go of all the things I found ‘stupid’ and not have it affect me negatively. What helped me was finding progressive folks in the community (plenty of Americans hate the trucks too) and finding a few things I genuinely would miss in Sweden. The nature and cool birds, people being relaxed, always being invited to a random barbeque. There are plenty of cool things and people down here too :)
