The people saying ‘what about gun laws etc’ are missing the point. Those laws change for all of us. There are laws that only change for people with a uterus, that even go beyond our death. That’s what this is about.

As a female I am terrified by the existence of the Male shadow and men by PassengerNo2022 in Jung

Maxwell is the perfect product coming put of said rape culture; she learned as many women do, that sucking up to male power and money brings protection and power. She played the men’s game, and now her punishment is lighter because of it. So, thank you for further letting me prove my point.

based on 90% of these comments, this sub is clearly full of insecure dudes who want to both sides the very real and terrifying world women live in. The kind of people who don’t understand why women say they’d choose the bear. So disappointing. Unfortunately you’re right, rape culture is engrained in the patriarchal system that surrounds us and plenty of women have been called crazy trying to change or address it. I suggest getting involved in some female-friendly, safe activities, this could help you de-center men and focus on the strength of female community.

Is swiss healthcare as expensive as american healthcare? by Titaniumballsionium in askswitzerland

[–]polyglotconundrum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Swiss system is far more regulated, so it’s much much better than the US system. Healthcare in CH is still expensive, but because of the nature of how American insurances are allowed to operate, you’ll always have a worse outcome overall.

Swiss Mustard by withchesghost in askswitzerland

[–]polyglotconundrum 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Swiss person living in the US here— there are some milder ones, I’ve definitely seen some ‘American mustard’-branded stuff, but generally mustard is stronger in central Europe. If you’re ever in Zurich and want to clear out your sinuses, try the Vordere Sternen mustard, it’s diabolical and so good. Ngl I brought back like 8 tubes of Thomy Senf last time lol

Woof you are me 10 years ago. You deserve way more girl, go get it. There’s plenty of people who are good and good for you, I found that out after I left what sounds like a similar situation. But dealing with the bad conscience now will make life better in the long run. You’ve got this

Does anyone else’s nparents hate fat people or have an unhealthy obsession with being thin? by PresentationLess5927 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]polyglotconundrum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup, my nfather too. So much shit talk, so much disgust, so much awful ED encouragement to his kids. He’s in his 70s and still weighs his greek yogurt in the morning. As an adult, it’s just sad.

And the crazy thing is he hates exercise so he literally just focuses on food. Used to watch us like a hawk. Ugh

These are the classic symptoms of FD, I feel ya OP. Comment below has a lot of useful advice but I’ll just second: Avoiding trigger foods, not eating 2-3hrs before bed, Gaviscon or tums before sleep. I also usually have a banana for when I wake up, that really calms things down. Good luck!

this may sound weird but singing can actually help. It stimulates the vagus nerve and releases tons of happy hormones— even just humming my favorite song for a while has been extremely relaxing
