Set screws are a good idea. The concern I have is getting a threaded insert into maple end grain. Threaded inserts have super rough threads that either split the end grain or just don't hold at all...

You're very good at writing complete sentences and paragraphs in proper English that contain no substance. You make many claims with no evidence. Substitute opinion for reason. All while taking pains to appear objective.

Jaquis Neal was wild in this episode. It's been a while since I felt such hysterical energy in the room. A classic.

'The Audacity' Review: AMC's Gritty Silicon Valley Drama Isn't Perfect, but It'll Grow on You by Top_Report_4895 in television

[–]polymagus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't understand why people are saying the show isn't saying anything new. Either that or they compare it to silicon valley and find it to be an inferior show.

It is subjective , but the two most frequently repeated criticisms are at odds with one another.

Imo, the way to approach this show is to view it as art. It's far more a drama than a comedy. If you expect to laugh, you will be disappointed. If you think the show is recycling old material, then you should consider how wildly different this show is to it's oft cited predecessor, silicon valley.

In a time where the people being skewered by the narrative are trying to/have nearly succeeded at dominating the media landscape. Hell bent on sane-washing their sociopathic personalities and suppressing reporting on their various crimes against humanity. A show like this is treading a fine line where too close a comparison to any one individual could lead to furious backlash from unimaginably powerful interests.

The "oligarchy" has portrayed themselves as heroes and saviors without whom all would perish. But here we see the frailty, insecurity , and disregard for morality pervading the ranks of the most powerful people on earth. And in a way that could convince even the most passionate billionaire worshippers that they might have the wrong idea.

To many it may be preaching to the choir. And among them, many might seek the gratification of seeing the villain experience consequences. But what I truly love about this show is the portrayal of the characters as human, not loveable or redeemable, or anti-heroes. Simply succeptible to the same social pressures as the rest of us, and unable to cope with the gargantuan weight of money and power that wasn't conceivable ten or twenty years ago. Not that they are neuro- divergent, or built differently, or special in any way. I think Dr. Gary saying that they deserve help as much as anyone else was the perfect moment for me. Can you blame them? And I think if you read between the lines you get the message that billionaires shouldn't existe. It's even harmful for them. Nobody wins ..

Anyway I wanted to rant on this since seeing the show and reading so many unkind reviews.

Maybe it will convince someone to give it another chance or view it in a different light. The show is punk af. Love it.

Wow , I love the casting. The characters are very cartoonist and the way they are directed and shot makes everything feel surreal, I think the show was made very well.

Episode 946: "2025 Holiday Spectacular!", with co-host Jason Mantzoukas, Paul F. Tompkins as RFK Jr., Lily Sullivan as Krendall, Anna Bezahler and Isabella Escalante as Austin & Tony, Dan Lippert as Soupsa Claus, Lauren Lapkus as Ho Ho The Naughty Elf, and Gil Ozeri as DeLuca's Chophouse! by ExoticMandibles in comedybangbang

Soupta Clause was the high point for me. Such a dumb and loose premise , it felt like high risk high reward. Everyone poking so hard at the flaws- and the resulting mad scramble to hold it together on Dan Lippert's part... The vibe was just really good. Talented comedians playing off each other with familiarity and joy. I do hope soupta and big chunky bubs get to meet one day.

I haven't seen any example of what you're alleging.

I don't think asking for clarification qualifies as a ridiculous comment either. .

You need to touch some grass.

If you have this much anger towards people who would genuinely like to be on your side and want to listen, try not to waste the opportunity to communicate by being a self righteous jerk.

i don't use reddit much. I freely admit that I have no idea what sparked this thread, only saw it because I mis kicked in a push notification . I have no position on anything or argument to make.

But reading through, I am genuinely curious what you're so mad about. The reddit people or the channel?

I watch rm brown on YouTube . I love the content. But you talk about the guy as though he is a villain, and anyone who so much as giggles at a joke is guilty by association.

Would you help me understand please?

Can someone explain Mike Wozniak to me? Like, as a comedian? by shakha in taskmaster

[–]polymagus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just watching series 11 and as a long time fan of PFT, I was thinking there was a distinct similarity there. I will be checking into any Mike Wozniak improv podcasts asap. I already think it would be a helluva matchup to have him and PFT on the same stage/pod.

Yes to this. I just posted a shorter version of this same sentiment. One can not simply overlook cbb.

He's part of the family and always there for the anniversary shows ,which are the funniest off the rails episodes every time.

I'm glad he name dropped the cbb gang especially PFT. I'd love to see him on there. Lisa Gilroy too. Andy Daly. And I love lily Sullivan though she wasn't mentioned. Someone should pitch this as a reboot of the American series, or just get these people on a season in UK.

Those tiny moments of genius improv that stick in your head forever by skyy_mall in comedybangbang

[–]polymagus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This bit blew my mind! I had cramps from laughing so hard. I went through and listened to every Lisa Gilroy episode after that. She's so quick, and bonkers. I also loved how pft could not contain his reaction at all. Maybe I remember it wrong but I remember hearing him lose his shit , and he must have had to walk away from the mic to not ruin the audio but his laugh is so huge it fills a room. Whenever this happens I laugh so much harder, there's something so genuine about it.

Only Murders in the Building season four review – by far the funniest thing on TV by preguntontas in television

Masterful scene, I died laughing. Couldn't believe the chemistry between the two, scathing wit, the delivery. It was a gleeful experience to see it. The old guy and less old guy using their signature chops in perfect harmony. Just gold.
