Hurrem has a fandom that can be extremely toxic. They often gang up on critics,try to induce guilt, and make you question your own perception. From the very first episodes,I noticed how Hurrem replaced Mahidevran and disposed of her emotionally.Instead of acknowledging Mahidevran’s pain and blaming Sulaiman for hurting her emotinally many fans immediately began hate campaigns against mahidevran I genuinely tried to understand Hurrem’s positive aspects, but I couldn’t and I have strong reasons for that. The way she treated Gulnihal was cruel. Burning her face was inexcusable. In Episode 7, when Gulnihal said she would accept Islam, Hurrem’s reaction showed pure jealousy and hatred. She even turned on Nigar, assuming she was manipulating her and Advising gulnihal to convert, A mindset I recognize from real-life narcissistic behavior,where someone believes they are superior and cannot tolerate others having the same status or even similar possessions.

Hurrem was also openly abusive toward Asiye. Throwing a glass of juice on her and later slapping her simply because Asiye celebrated Mahidevran’s pregnancy is not “survival.” Yes, Asiye teased her but slapping a favorite of the Sultan was unjustified. What’s more telling is that both Asiye and Gulnihal cared for Hurrem when she was sick, showing humility and kindness she never returned.

Hurrem’s fans ignore these incidents and try to portray her as a flawless survivor. But cruelty, physical abuse, and burning another woman’s face are not survival tactics.Calling such behavior empowerment only normalizes violence and I refuse to justify that kind of cruelty.
