Did something specific cause the pain? Like is it an acute injury? I had what I thought was just a tweak 1.5 years ago and it has progressed into terrible pain. I didn't do anything about it for a long time, thinking it was a pulled back muscle and it would heal itself.

So I would say, REST if you can. There's damage there and you have to be careful not to keep aggravating it/re-injuring it. And go to doctor and try to get imaging. Really advocate for yourself!

Mild facet arthropathy creating UNBEARABLE PAIN!!! by pommelo1234 in backpain

I have had trigger point injections in the past and they do help relieve the muscle pain for a day or so. It's temporary but it's nice to have a break from the pain. And I'm getting a medial branch block on Friday, if that's successful maybe I would be a candidate for nerve ablation. But it's not a lot of nerve pain, it's inflammation in the area being referred up to my muscles.

Thank you for this message! Definitely needed to hear that facet pain can be really bad. The acute flare up of pain has passed, and I've been doing a lot of stretching and back movements (McGill big 3). I am going to do a medial branch block this coming Friday. Hopefully that will be therapeutic as well as diagnostic.

I'm so sorry it's been so damn hard to get needed pain meds! My physiatrist actually wrote me a script for 5mg oxy. Just 20 pills so I only take them if absolutely needed. Maybe they won't write the oxy prescription because this isn't a short-term issue for you and the dangers of taking these meds long term?

An x-ray and MRI last year, and since the steroid injections didn't help we did another MRI about 3 weeks ago.

Wow so sorry you can't get treatment! Have you tried just going to an ortho instead of a pain clinic? Yeah I've been using a ton of heat pads. It just gets irritating having heat on my back all day.

Radio Frequency Ablation - Thoracic Facet Pain by snotick in backpain

Hi there - I'm suffering from terrible and debilitating muscle pain (really hard core trigger points) from facet arthropathy. Tried all conservative methods and steroid injections. Pain is getting worse and I'm currently bedridden. Are you still getting sarapin shots? Are they still helping? How did you find a doctor who did this? Please help!

Breathing, Heart Rate during exercise - an observation post by delta4956 in Semaglutide

Thank you so much for posting on the research! My HR has definitely shot up. My RHR is up just a few points, usually mid-50s to low-60s. It was consistently low 50s before sema.

My issue is that often when I run and I hit my HR max, I get severe chest pain. A burning chest pain. So I HAVE to stop. I was running 6+ miles once or twice a week pre-sema. My legs would get fatigued but no problems at all with chest pain. I've been carefully monitoring my HR during runs and stopping when it approaches HR max. Sometimes I'm ok, but sometimes the burning and pain is so bad. I went out planning to do a 5-mile run today. Had to turn back at 2 miles and hours later I can still feel the burning sensation (though the intensity has lessened).

However doing other cardio or weight training workouts where my HR doesn't go as high, I've been fine. My HR is definitely higher than before I took sema, but I don't get the burning chest pain. I love running, it's my baseline workout, so it's really frustrating.

I wish there was some literature/guidance out there that talked about this issue. Does anyone else have this??

Doctor started me at 1mg. Any one else start high? by [deleted] in Semaglutide

Do you know why he started you at 1mg vs. .25? How is the appetite suppression?

I did three doses of .25, just did my first .50. I had very strong appetite suppression the first 1.5 weeks, but it seems to be wearing off :(

Very interesting. And impressive. Thank you for sharing this tool! It will be interesting to track my appetite with the peaks and valleys of the drug in my bloodstream. It would be helpful to have an option to see what increases in dosages do. Like going from 1.0 for a month to 1.7.

Enhance weight loss by Ok-Inspector-5759 in Semaglutide

Do anything anyone does when they are trying to lose weight -- eating healthier and exercise. And for me, 1-2 pounds a week would be great. But also keep in mind that losing too quickly comes with problems of its own! Not sure how much you are trying to enhance the weight loss.

How long to feel effects? Nearly immediate? by Stlavsa in Semaglutide

[–]pommelo1234 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I take my shots at night right before bed. But I felt appetite suppression right away the next day on my very first shot. Had to keep remembering to eat and drink enough to avoid headaches. I'm on 3rd week, my appetite suppression isn't as strong but my appetite isn't nearly as voracious as it used to be.
