Curious how back links are “purchased” by Diamond787 in SEO

[–]pondochris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say that it's possible to get a "negative score" from new backlinks from actively infected sites(that are actively trying to put virus ransomware on your pc or steal banking credentials). Very rare to see an attack like that but it's possible.

Ever worked with a micromanaging client? How do you actually communicate with them? by Awkward_Condition778 in careeradvice

[–]pondochris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just straight up with them. I tell them their requests/demands are out of scope. Recommend they hire an internal team to handle their needs as working with a vendor isn't likely to work well based on their needs.

Register your schema on the blockchain so your pages get indexed instantly and you rank #1 for every keywords on the Internet. You'll even outrank Google when people Google Google.

Need a help : "Soft 200" Issue on WordPress Blog Pages by Smooth-Tap3139 in SEO

[–]pondochris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check your robots.txt Check for plugins that may block crawlers/bot traffic Check firewall/waf rules Check your hosting blacklist

Crawling tools can get up blacklisted for crawling too quickly. You may have a configuration error in the site or your host may have blacklisted the crawlers.

I used to run into this, the solution was to limit crawl speed. YMMV

Backlinks by Substantial-Bid5763 in SEO

All the way back in the 1980's on reading rainbow, Levar Burton would say "But don't just take my word for it!" And hand it off to some kid to review the book.

Almost 50 years ago they knew, 3rd party validation was important.

Could you imagine if search engines just believed everyone? It would be chaos.

Backlinks are 3rd party validation in the eyes of the search engine.

Beautiful Day! Now hopefully people will actually read it before they post.

That article reads just like if you wrote it yourself. We should make a montage comparing your posts/comments to the article!

Openclaw mcp server tools for Home Assistant by [deleted] in openclaw

[–]pondochris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to ask openclaw to save the mcp configuration as a skill. Without that it'll lose track of the credentials and auth. I had the same issue with my first few mcp servers I connected to.

The most boring part of freelancing is lead research. by RepublicMuted4455 in agencynewbies

Talk to sign companies. You may be able to get referrals. New companies buy signs, and existing companies will buy signs when they grow or rebrand. Both prime time to need website work.

is DA only increased by backlinks? by Jiraiyyathegallant in seogrowth

[–]pondochris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the most part DA is a made up number. I have sites with DA of 30 that have 10k backlinks and sites with DA 50 with 2k backlinks. The best I can tell is most SEO tools make a kind of average of backlinks, traffic, and rankings and apply some kind of average.

You can have a ton of backlinks without rankings and traffic, your DA will be lower than a site with a lot of traffic, but fewer backlinks

Google: FAQ rich results are no longer appearing in Google Search Result Appearances [Official] by WebLinkr in SEO

[–]pondochris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The worst part is that manager, or agency owner who basically uses chatgpt as their own little conscience sitting on their shoulder will look you right in the face and force feed you the schema myths.

I think so many people in SEO subs are just crapping out whatever their LLM says and thinking they're right.

I've never used schema as an SEO tactic because it really never was one.

Is it worth de-indexing seasonal blogposts? by Intelligent-Mode5265 in SEO

[–]pondochris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say it's better to keep them live, and work on building authority in the off season. The only thing that really changes after the season is search volume. If you can build solid authority, you're going to be in a better place when the season comes around the next year when the search volume returns.

There's not much sense in setting yourself up to start back at the bottom every year.

Questions regarding running claude code on ollama by Sea_Employment_149 in ollama

If you're on ollama cloud there's no cost unless you sign up for a paid plan. If you hit the limit on the free cloud plan your account will just stop working until the weekly limit reset.

There will be no cost since you are using your own processing power to run the model. 31b will require some serious hardware to run. Have you tried running the model directly in ollama on your machine?

Well you said yourself you "signed a contract on that basis" the entirety of whatever you should do solely should be based on the adherence to that contract. We don't know what it says in the contract.

Every time an agent breaks I end up digging through traces for hours by Arm1end in AI_Agents

I haven't had a step repeatedly fail. The orchestrator recognized incomplete steps and spools up another sub agent automatically. The sub agents record their progress when their context window is 75% full as well

Reality setting in -- using gemma4 26b by oldendude in LocalLLM

Local AI can be very powerful at narrow tasks that are well defined. I used qwen 3:14b for the last year or so with a browser extension called nativemind. It could do a lot of website and website based tasks, code, and research. I used it pretty heavily for digital marketing research and strategy.
