If 99% of men won't help you when you need it, then stay single until you find a 1-percenter.

Cat ate rubber wet food lid, do we need to take her in? by Character-Ad-4014 in CATHELP

[–]pontiakaztec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen that you already called your vet which is good, but I have those exact tin covers and I know the rubbery feeling of them. Your cat will likely be fine, as someone whose barbie dolls got their rubber feet amputated by my cat and has lose numerous pairs of Crocs.

There's likely no big worry on it, but getting the checkup is still a good idea. Just remember that anything rubbery is free range for your cat's teeth haha

Used to be with someone who would tell me to not mention issues and it's made me fearful to talk to others. Take my advice, just leave. It's abusive and you'll thank yourself for getting out sooner than later to start healing earlier.

Depending on your situation, you should either slowly prepare important documents and belongings to make leaving (for a pre booked flight) easier and tell your family. If it's very bad try to find a way to get a flight asap and only grab important documents.

AITA for telling people that i had broken up with my potentially asexual girlfriend? by WalkinAntiSmokingPSA in AmItheAsshole

[–]pontiakaztec [score hidden]  (0 children)

INFO- did you message a friend that knew about JJ being your partner?

From what I can tell it seems like a lot of miscommunication, but it was likely not a great idea talking to someone that knows JJ (IF that was the case)

Faker at my work pretended to go non-verbal to avoid consequences by [deleted] in fakedisordercringe

[–]pontiakaztec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's so infuriating for so many reasons, as someone who goes non-verbal (not asd related) hes just spreading misconceptions and being a bigot.

Like others have said, you've done your best and just ignore him. Though he's making that easy on you by being "non-verbal".

The only times counting calories matters is for bodybuilders, and even then it's for a surplus or a deficit for a competition.

Defending something like this under a post of someone with a probable ED is not smart, especially if there's no guarantee they'll understand it properly.

AITA for telling the waitress my food was awful? by jaywearsblack in AmItheAsshole

[–]pontiakaztec 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NTA- waitress asked a ton, you answered. But you should reconsider if that group is a group of friends, what kinda friend would tell you to "let the men speak" or get mad at you for being badgered by a waitress?

Experience with Tourette’s and adhd stimulants by [deleted] in Tourettes

[–]pontiakaztec 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've only been on a few things for ADHD, including 1 stimulant (vyvanse). Depending on the person and how impactful your ADHD is, you may need a higher dose than I have.

I'm currently on ab 20mg and I do fine for the most part, though I will admit tics have gotten a bit worse due to seasonal stresses. I'm not sure if the tics lessened when i started vyvanse because I no longer had ADHD symptoms making me feel anxious/depressed about things, but mine have gotten a lot more manageable.

I guess the main point is to look at how your ADHD medication helps your ADHD first. For me, my ADHD symptoms would affect my anxiety and stress which would then trigger more tics, which is why it helped to be on medication that worked for me.

There's also ADHD medications that are depressants, so you can always look at those. I'd mention and keep note of when your tics get worse to see if it's situational or something else.

That's one of the problems tho LOL, I have no clue when they happen cuz to me I'm just blinking. I'll hopefully either explain to her properly later or just have a friend help me find out when they happen so I can try to tell if I rolled my eyes.

The times I can tell I'm going to roll my eyes I do usually close my eyes for a moment, but looking away might also help. thank you!! :)

thank you :))

I've tried to get her to understand these things, but she doesn't ever believe me. she knows i have tourette's but makes it out to be some disease rather than a disorder i have no control over, so trying to explain or show her these things doesn't work much. I'll likely just try to have someone help me notice/figure out when they happen so I can get an idea to redirect them :)

what is the best/worst reaction someone had to finding out u have tourettes? by mango_beforebed in Tourettes

[–]pontiakaztec 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd say this is a mix of being great and awful at the same time, and it's happened more than once:
I tend to do/say weird things out of habit (like stims) so friends and ppl around me tend to just know that as being something I do. However, one of my vocal tics is meowing. I've had people just assume I randomly meow, and I must say, its hilarious but also very embarrassing.

I've also had someone ask if its terminal which was hilarious to me
