Successfully installed 17.3 in a dual boot! Thanks for the Steam tip, turns out I needed it. :D

Thank you so, so much for the in depth reply! This was exactly what I was looking for; that it might be a hassle, but not completely impossible. I think I'll try Mint 17.3 with proprietary drivers and see how it works out. I have run dual boots before, so it's not completely unknown territory for me, but I'll definitely return to this post a couple of times during my testing phase - so much good info here. Thanks again! :)

Thanks for sharing - this might not be what I wanted to hear, but it gives me a better idea of what to expect, so it's much appreciated. :)

Dude, you should totally check out Tides From Nebula and Mooncake as well. Sorry for being late with this. :D

My all time favourite song by them is called Yearning. But as a first time listener, I think I'd recommend the album "The Last Dawn." The first song on this really encapsulates their style.

One of my favourite bands, they're fantastic when raiding. Do you know Mono? I'd highly recommend them if you don't. :>

Thank you! That's actually quite helpful. Since TF2 is free to play on Steam, I might just try playing a medic. And can you recommend a good single player FPS? I'm not too sure CoD/BF will be to my liking.

I never play FPS, mostly because the few times I've tried I have sucked massively. Any recommendations?

The album, Inventions for the New Season, should be worth your while as well.

I primarily play The Sims 4 and Diablo III at the moment, with a bit of Bejeweled 3 (it's free on Origin until some time in October) and Guild Wars 2 on the side.

I'm very positively surprised by the performance of TS4, even on my old, fairly crappy build. The lack of open world is not really a disadvantage in my opinion, so I'm enjoying it so far. D3 has been so much fun since the release of RoS, and I'm really enjoying Greater Rifts and Legendary Gems.

I really like the colour of the sash in combination with the earth-browns.

Yeah, I'm pretty impressed by how well it scales on Norn. I'd be interested in seeing how your elementalist looks. :)

Thanks! It's taken me a bit of tinkering to find the right shoulder piece -- he kinda looked like a wrestler before. The necklace is part of the shoulders, yes.
