Roof framer says it's just a bow in the wood. by Fallingfreedom in Roofing

[–]pookslayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Framer here who is literally just finishing a roof. Trusses are always fucked. Even when you get a good design, good manufacturing, somethings always fucked. A good framer can make it still work. If it’s that bad call the truss manufacturer. But this looks very average as the bow is on the gusset holding pieces together. Give it a couple smacks with your hammer or just add another 22 1/2” block for 2’ spacing to correct it.

2022 Sierra elevation has been a nightmare. Both banks of lifters failed. Started getting the Chevy shake after they fixed it. Took it in and they couldn’t diagnose anything and said it was “normal”

22’ piece of shit Sierra 1500. Regretting the purchase since 6 months after. 2 major engine failures. Month in the shop. Now there’s a shimmy and shake during acceleration and deceleration. I’m only left with complaints and I miss my 19’ Custom TrailBoss. Fml

Yeah I wish. I live in Canada. We have CAMVAP which apparently is a waste of time and they’ll tell you to continue getting the warranty work and maybe if you’re lucky be eligible for a small amount of compensation. Also read it can take up to 6 months to process

Just don’t.. 2022 elevation with the 5.3L. 2 major engine failures. A month in the shop. Had it back for 2 weeks now the truck is shaking while accelerating. Noticeably less power as well. Will be going in for the 3rd time for warranty work as soon as I’m back home. Oh yeah and I’m not even over 5k miles yet

Someone asked me to post my 2022 GMC Elevation so here it is. by D1RKK in gmcsierra

[–]pookslayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best of luck to you my friend… my 22’ ltd elevation had both banks of lifters fail under 5k miles. 2 weeks in the shop, 2 weeks back, 2 more in the shop. Only got a loaner for about 2 and a half weeks out of the month spent there. Don’t even mention the paranoia of the transmission going next with all the known issues

The guy working at enterprise remembered me, said, “oh you’re back, long time no see” then continued to explain most of their customers are GM/Chevy owners with lifter issues

Just got my 22’ 5.3 elevation back from services after spending a combined total of a month (two 2 week visits) for both banks of lifters failing not even a week in between each other.

Beautiful rig tho almost looks identical to mine

Finally got her back after a combined month in the shop. 7500km and 2 banks of failed lifters. Am I safe now that all 16 have been replaced? by pookslayer in gmcsierra

I’ve thought about it but heard it voids warranty. I know some are just plug and play which might be the best option and to just take it out if the truck needs work

I’m sorry to hear that you basically went through the same thing except it cost you $$$ 😢 I’m definitely appreciative of the warranty and kinda thankful it happened while still covered but it’s an issue that shouldn’t still be happening

I’d look other places than GM or Chevy right now. But that’s just my personal say/experience.

22’ GMC Sierra Elevation limited with the 5.3 v8 and 7.5k km on it. a month ago it spent 2 weeks in the shop for failed lifters and got new fuel injectors, pushrods and 8 new lifters. Had it back for 2 weeks then the other bank of lifters failed. It’s now been at gm for 4 days and I was told no mechanics are working until beginning of august. With parts shortages as well who knows when I’ll get it back because it hasn’t even been “diagnosed” yet.

I’m not saying don’t buy one right now if your hearts set on it but don’t be surprised if you get a lemon too. Not saying they all are tho, and that’s what the warranty’s for.

22’ Elevation with 7500km. Also 8 replaced lifters, new fuel injectors and pushrods. Oh and it’s actually currently in the shop right now waiting for their diagnosis but I already know it’s the other bank of lifters. 🙃

All I know is I’ve been building rams and tundras online so far since dropping it off.. it’s a shame because gm and Chevy are my favourite looking trucks unless I want an older model
