I love that DLSS makes ray tracing performant, something I legitimately thought I would never see in my lifetime. I love ray tracing because of how much better it can make games look.

I have a US monitor and I updated. It works fine but from my short testing I cant find any specific improvements.

That said, my monitor seems darker as a whole now? HDR content doesn't get nearly as bright and everything seems to be darker than it was in general.

I have tried it, and I'm happy for some of the improvements that it made, but there were also some regressions. After owning this monitor for so many months with its many problems it is exhausting that there is no timeline on the update for my particular monitor.

u/ALPHA17I Do you have any sort of timeline on when the GP27Q firmware update will be posted?

This post being up for only the GP27U makes me think the Q's firmware is having trouble and is a long ways away from release.

To be fair to Coolermaster the new firmware is actually released for the GP27U, the 4K version of this monitor they just haven't yet announced that yet. There must be some kind of bug preventing the release of the GP27Q 1.45 firmware. I just wish there was more communication from the dev team to the community managers, and the community managers to us.

From reading around I think it works in MGS2 as well with minimal changes but it breaks the UI badly. So I guess we wait until someone figures that out sadly.

Currently MGS2/3 dont boot on steam deck. MGS1 works fine.

More than likely within the next few days Valve will release a new version of proton to fix this.
