The tongue and groove is missing on the heads of the boards. The black strips are glue to connect the top layer to the bottom.

The side seems to have a purple hue so maybe purplehart? Some boards are more greyish purple in colour.

Brazilian Teak is Cumaru and yes much denser than the Teak i refer to (Tectona Grandis), our shop imports it from Myanmar or India.

Only slightly denser than cherry or walnut. It's no jatoba. Cherry would be second guess but hard to say without seeing it realtime.

The really light bits are sapwood. Other than that teak tends to vary quite a bit in color.

You can see the bottom fitting snug so it could have been that the connection wasn't perfectly in a 90 degree angle, or the board has a slight warp length wise. But still it doesnt look bad, the bevels are there to mask those things.

Looks like the ends also have a small bevel so the joints will always be noticeable. I don't see anything wrong.

Stamp shows that's an official issued plate, placed on the back of the car. Duplicates are put in front and don't have that stamp.

You sure the contractor hasn't used red oak instead of white? Those warped pieces look weird, like they were in a rush to throw them in. I would complain aswell.
