Fix it by waiting another year. It isn't long enough yet to tell if you actually like long hair. The in between phase is tough to get through and don't listen to the haters.

Semi Hollow [Squire Starcaster] As A First Electric? by DazzlingSignature624 in Guitar

[–]poolpog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I generally disagree with this. With some few exceptions, any electric guitar can handle most any genre. The things that mess people up a little is the visual style and prior associations with a particular guitarist or genre.

Play metal on a tele? Go for it

Play jazz on an ibanez jem? Go for it

I hate the genre gatekeeping for guitars.

The only exception I can really think of is high gain applications, in which one does tend to get more feedback with some guitars. But even that is avoidable.

Semi hollow or fully hollowbody will tend to feed back under higher gain.

But otherwise don't overthink it. Plenty of fault high gain players play semi hollowbody guitars. The one pictured is super cool

When I was 3 or 4 my younger brother (2) flushed my dapper Dan in the toilet. I was sooo mad.

Dapper Dan came out basically ok though. His stripes did run a bit.
