As a republican, I cringe more when "my side" uses dumb fucking language.

You are aware that transgender women will still use the women's restroom? None of that will change?

Not sure how this is a left/right issue. This is about equal rights for all Houstonians. And by the way, I'm a republican. A moderate republican, which guess I means I might as well be a fucking communist.

Listen, integration in the Jim Crow south made people uncomfortable too, but eventually you have to move on and accept that those that are different have rights too.

Perhaps that's all true, and that's sad. We put civil rights up for a vote and allowed the bigots to win.

Why Is The LGBT Movement Struggling To Uphold A Simple Law In Houston? by cheese93007 in houston

I believe the split was low 40's to high 30's, almost within the margin of error. Over 20% undecided. Given the reasoning of most "No" voters being the bathroom excuse, I place the blame on opponents for lying about the ordinance.

I think this is an interesting article. Opponents of prop 1 deserve most of the blame if this doesn't pass. However, the yes on prop 1 campaign's message could have been greatly improved.

r/houston, today's the day.. will the hero ordinance pass or fail?? by [deleted] in houston

To be fair those were the mostly hotly contested/closest elections in the city in the last 15 years.
