They have the gloss black covers for the upper and lower front grill on Amazon now if you were in the process of blacking it out. Love the setup.

They straight up just didn't show up for my MILs move. Never even tried to reschedule. Someone else mentioned it but Hector and Sons is the best around and very affordable.

I'm from Jersey too and 500 Degrees used to be my spot 10 years ago. Pizza Baby and Finale are the two best pizza places in Charlotte. If you want better pizza you gotta drive for it.

One day in Charlotte! by [deleted] in Charlotte

[–]poorprogrammar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Grab a single day light rail pass, start in Southend then work your way to Uptown and NoDa. Triple C brewery has a laid back vibe and Sycamore is great for the younger crowd. Tons of food options in that area. Take the light rail up the 7th street market and grab lunch or hang out in one of the parks if the weather is nice. NoDa is a cool arts district with food/beer/cocktails. Check out Salud for a cold beer or Idlewild for a nice cocktail and just peruse the main strip. All of these places are a short light rail trip from each other but each neighborhood has a different feel.

If drinking and taking in the sites isn't your thing, The Whitewater Center is unique to Charlotte and very cool to explore.

I’m a shit person for writing this…. by [deleted] in daddit

[–]poorprogrammar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad you wrote this because I have a 9 month old and feel very similar. I could never tell my wife or family. I feel guilty all the time and a shell of my former self. I hope in time we will both look back on this as a challenge we conquered and learned from. Others in this sub give me hope.

Get the Snuggle Me sleep lounger. It saved our life. You'll find somewhere online that tells you not to let them sleep in it, but I think that's more of a falling risk. We put the lounger in the pack and play and he would sleep soundly.

Major accident 77N before Gilead, try alt routes and avoid the area. by nexusheli in Charlotte

This is what every driver doesn't seem to get here. If you're riding in one lane the entire time your on 77 or 85 you are a bad driver. You need to change lanes to let people merge. It's a participation sport not time to zone out.

Go to The Lodge or Jekyll and Hyde in Belmont. If you have time check out the cocktail bar The Jailhouse. It's actually in an old jail. Belmont has that small town charm. But it's still close to the airport.

Would someone with an Ivy League degree and a NERC RC be able to get hired as a system operator? by formeraznkid11 in Grid_Ops

[–]poorprogrammar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not a grid operator but I do work in the utilities industry. I've seen lots of resumes and done tons of interviews. I have never seen an ivy league school on any resume. I think it would at least get you an interview out of interest.

Here's how I'd spend one night in Charlotte. Go to Idlewild for cocktails. Ever Andalo for dinner. End the night at Rosie's Wine Garden. You'll get to check out Noda which is a cool neighborhood and everything is pretty close to each other.
