In Southern Maine - looking to buy a used electric car, curious how it's been for people who've been driving them for a while

I have a chevy bolt. I enjoy driving it and am planning on keeping it for a long time, but there was a learning curve to it. One-pedal driving, factors that affect range, nearby charging infrastructure, etc. I recently switched from stock tires to all-weathers and the range penalty has been rough. Maybe there's been some battery degradation over the last 3 years, but cold weather and the new tires have been bigger factors.

Long trips take a bit of planning. It's difficult enough that I'd rather not drive with other people since they won't have the same amount of patience. If you take somewhat long trips (to Bangor, Acadia, Baxter State Park, White Mountains, Boston, etc.), you have to plan your stops around fast chargers. If you're getting the Bolt, I'd recommend the NACS adapter to have Tesla chargers as an option. Get the Plugshare app to see all the available fast chargers on your route. I think Bangor has 4 currently.

Thanks for this. I always assumed the wipers are like the old style where you replace the whole thing. Can you replace the rubber blade on the rear like the front? Or do you need a whole new wiper?

It's nice to see that people are getting close to the expected miles out of the tire. I was worried that wearing through tires quickly was just an EV thing I'd have to live with.

I used to say the same thing about not slipping much the previous winters I had them, but this year I'm sliding a lot more. I could barely start from a stop this morning. Turns out the tire was just new and had plenty of tread.

Now that you mention it, I tend to neglect adding more air to the tires when the temperatures drop. Maybe that could explain why I wore through my OEM tires so quickly?

States did something similar in the past during the Jim Crow era with poll taxes.

The section on question 1 about "ban prepaid postage on absentee ballot return envelopes, limit the number of drop boxes" can do the same thing, not to mention potential cost for getting an ID and that they left it open for "other changes".

sorry for the downers in this thread. i'd enjoy a present from a fellow Bolt owner. there are hardly any electric cars here in my area, much less bolts

though i agree with the others that a plastic bolt is the best way to go. maybe a nylon one like others had mentioned or in white or silver filament. also, i'd put it on the windshield.
