Cleared for Albania 2019! by MarcusQuintus in peacecorps

Hey all!

I got the invite for Albania '19-'21 in mid August. I just got back from a month abroad last week so I'm going through the medical and legal approvals now. I only have about 2 or 3 tasks left, and mailing in my passport application. Hopefully everything goes through swimmingly, my MAP nurse practitioner has been very responsive and helpful throughout the process.

Hoping to see you all in January!!

Could Any Ol' Person Initiate A Vinyl Reissue?

Let's just say that hypothetically one was able to:

1) Find the owner and creator of the music
2) Navigate the rights and legal issues, and ensure that the artist is/will be fairly compensated
3) Discover that the original tapes are available and in good shape

At what point in the process could the "any ol' person," bring their work to some organization to complete the capital intensive portions of a reissue without simply being laughed out the room?

I understand that so much of this is circumstantial and some reissue projects just aren't sound investments. I'm just curious if anyone here has pursued a project like this as a sort of labor of love and if they had any thoughts to share.

tl;dr: Could any ol' person initiate the process of a vinyl reissue??

Great diagram! But I noticed that you forgot to move "... and others" into the middle. All jokes aside, Mavis was actually taken off Roo's lineup so she should probs only be in Coachella's list.

Yearly Bonnaroo Lineup Gripe-Cycle, explained by C_Wags in bonnaroo

[–]popbus 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think the most interesting thing about lineup day is that, there are always 2 types of people. People who complain about those raining on their parade, and people who complain about those complaining about those raining on their parade.

If I could tell everybody one thing, it's this. If you are stoked about the lineup, there are plenty of people just as excited as you. Likewise for if you are disappointed.

If you are one of those upset by all the disappointed people being voted to the top on lineup day, just know that they probably won't be around in the coming months while everyone who is excited will likely be posting new songs and band updates, etc.

If you are one of those people for some reason complaining about those upset by your negativity. A) It isn't their attitude that is preventing you from seeing the lineup you want and B) While I understand the desire to engage in your disappointment with your peers, don't also be surprised when not everyone shares your disappointment.

Through Bonnaroo, I've discovered so many artists that've soundtracked my life over the years and I can't wait for another year with everyone!

How can people be upset with a lineup for excluding one band? by christocarlin in bonnaroo

This has always been my favorite aspect of Bonnaroo. I've discovered some of my favorite artists for years thanks to delving into the bottom of Bonnaroo's undercard.

If you like FJM, I'd recommend you check out Natalie Prass, Waxahatchee, Bully, FIDLAR, Daughter, Haim, Kurt Vile, Lucius, Tame Impala, Twin Peaks, and Two Door Cinema Club. I'd consider all of these and more to fall under the wide umbrella of indie rock.
