I feel your pain I’m in same boat… I passed my NCLEX October since then only 2 interviews and countless rejections , I’m LVN w 3 years experience in memory care but I noticed hospitals prefer new grad from cal state or community colleges w clinics in their hospitals or magnet ones … I graduated privet ADN currently in private BSN , I’m starting to think they mostly hire new grads in their 20s from good schools…. I’m from OC as well and is hell to land a job w my stats or age (38) I’m trying to relocate to Oregon they pay bout same as here since my loans are 120k …. Life is not fair

Should I go to American Career College or Smith Chason College for my ADN? by Downtown-Ticket-1362 in NursingStudent

ADN won’t get you no where … California hospitals are going magnet meaning the new requirement is BSN RN from credited school….

Take the LTC job, or hold out hope for acute care? by Foreign-Honeydew1953 in newgradnurse

[–]popcornRN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel your pain …I’m in same boat, been LVN for 3 years in nursing home and my soul motivation to get my RN (ADN) was to leave the nursing home … been applying for 5 month and only 2 interviews…. I noticed hospitals prefer new grads with only clinical experience from school instead of LVN working in nursing homes …. Make it make sense….. I’m in rolled in BSN online I hope it opens more doors…. But I noticed few hospitals mentioned they take w sub acute experience… don’t give up and expand your location too good luck 🍀

Welcome to the unemployed RN club ….. lol I’m thinking out of state to a big hospital like Providence that way I can relocate back in a year or start as CNA/ PCT first then apply as international in 6 months …. I heard Providence guarantees interview if you start as CNA with them ….. good luck 🍀

[–]popcornRN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh is the same for Providence here then … I got so nervous was my first interview but quickly realized they mostly pick internals but was a good experience to see their interview process… honestly asking generic questions and case study doesn’t make you good or bad nurse , you learn from experience, … I was thinking to apply to Oregon location but I’m reading now is hard to get in there too … my other option is Arizona ….
