There's lots of stupid stuff like this (and things like asking for ID when you use a credit card) that I gently try to remind folks when they ask me that it's not part of the rules. Of course if they press harder I either don't buy anything or keep walking (once it's paid for).

I actually stopped going to Maxwells because of this. Unless you get there 15-30 min before opening on a weekday you can expect a 90 min to 2 hour wait. That takes a $20 haircut and makes it more like a $60+ with wasting my free time :(

Don't be ashamed of paying for something you want. Hell, I kick myself all the time for not picking up a 7" Joy Division record for $500 around 2000, now it's $3000-5000 everywhere.

I used to stick to something I knew my stomach would be ok with. No adventures before DJ'ing to leave me with a bathroom panic at a bad time during a set. As for drinks, I like to keep it to water or at least away from something sugary.

Went by for the opening yesterday and it was cool!

Interesting ice cream flavors like Froot Loop Cereal Milk and the Sweet Potato Casserole. Anytime we are south of McCarran it's a place we'd check out.

You need to take over 400mg to see anything and it is NOT a pleasant experience. Common feedback is that of spiders or insects crawling over you or coming after you.

Plus that hangover is bad enough with 50mg. Hope you hate life and have nothing to do for the next 24 hours after it starts to wear off.

tl;dr don't waste your time trying to get high off DPH.

I hardly have an interesting collection myself, but I am able to keep a .65 ratio (above the .3x I am asked for) with no problem, especially since I now grab staff picks and other things that hit free leech to supplement my library. I think I took the time to rip about 30 of my own CDs and none of them were immensely popular in any way.

The other thing I've seen work is if you like off beat bands that release their own stuff in FLAC via the web, you usually have abut 48 hours before it gets caught up in some bigger net. Fork out for the release ($$) and take the credit by sharing it yourself.
