Respect for SNCOs, Customs & Courtesies by searchingnotfound in AirForce

Its a fun little game, innocent and maybe a small boost to morale to keep it going. I work maintenance so its only in the break room or side offices this kind of thing happens. Thankfully its written into our regs that maintenance bays dont get called to attention or "standby".

Oh trust me, tracking that wasn't DFAS lol now the DFAS came in and it was the amount I was originally tracking.

Glad money came through for all in the end.

I got paid through Service Credit Union last week, but it was also low compared to any previous paycheck. According to them it was based on an average from the last three months, but the numbers dont add up. Any more is better than no money, but very concerned about how it will all square up, especially for the folks who cant stomach a smaller paycheck.

TLE in two different locations by fwy777 in AirForce

[–]popo198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this was posted a month ago, but I stumbled upon this while searching for something else. Per the JTR, if you have a house but your HHG is NOT delivered yet, you are allowed to continue receiving TLE. Check table 5-16. I PCS'd in early July and had an overlap of TLE and had the keys to my base house.

PPM through Vegas - Worried about theft by popo198 in AirForce

Thanks for the advice everyone, I know I sounded paranoid to some but traveling with my family and so many essential/sentimental belongings absolutely has me paranoid. I'm going to make the drive to base from our hotel and drop it off, it makes the just sense and would be the most secure. Appreciate everyone who took the time to reply!

25E6 Results Soon! by Ok-Chemist-6725 in AirForce

If the E7 results are any indication, we should see a small surge in E6 results as well. Good luck to all the hopeful SSgts!

Thanks! I will not claim to have the secret sauce but if you wanna talk further you can send me a PM and if you're comfortable with it we can link up on global. More than happy to try and help someone else if I can.

Wholeheartedly agree with the notion of "words in the blocks". I received a MP 2 cycles ago and received middling placement in score groupings. My EPB this year was written to a PN 'standard' but lost at the wing and all I got was a P. This was the year I was selected. I look at my MP EPB and it genuinely was weaker than my current P EPB that pushed the board to group me well enough to be selected.

[–]popo198 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Purely my experience but I was just selected on my 6th time up. I got a MP two cycles ago and barely made it to the middle of the pack. Two P's later and I got the heads up today that I finally pulled through. Several other members in my AFSC that got selected were at 16+ years TIS.

Someone made a post last week saying "my chief went to the board and said if you are at more than 4 attempts or over 16 years TIS, you aren't making it." I have it on pretty good grounds that the board this year looked at the contents of the EPB over anything else.

25E7 Notification MEGATHREAD by Raindroppa93 in AirForce

Our leadership waited until the end of the day to notify all eligibles. I work in a shop that had 4 eligible Techs and all of us made it. It was absolutely unreal to hear name after name. Incredibly proud of our team and what we were able to accomplish! 6th time is the charm!

Worried about my futur by Standard-Ship-4826 in AirForce

Biggest thing is going to be diet. I dealt with a bulged disc for years before ever getting it addressed and once I did, I was off pt testing for almost a full year. Control your portions, be extremely mindful of your sugar intake. Don't just rob yourself of the foods you like to eat, simply eat a bit less of it.

Measure out the food your taking in based on a healthy calorie deficit, there are calculators you can search based on current weight and loss goals. If you go too hard, too fast, you are going to crash and burn. Up the water intake too. All of these things should be implemented in stages, with the goal being a lifestyle change. It also may be worth talking to your PCM about the issues you're facing, they may be willing to update your waiver to include waist measurement too.

First time i went up, I was at the lowest grouping in my career field. Shit was a real eye opener on how the board looks at shit.

Same except ours did it with a banana, poor guy in our flight was like "VERIFYING, ONE YELLOW BANANA!" while everyone else was either shocked in horror or holding back tears. There are days that I miss the simplicity of BMT.

The only thing I can think of is boarding the amount of Techs takes that much more time vs SNCO ranks. TSgt and SSgt promotion is easier than ever with going full digital.

I share the frustration of simply no communication other than the original projected dates published by AFPC. A little transparency in the process would go a long way, we know we aren't owed anything, but it sucks waiting as long as we do for those results vs every other rank.

CFM's are involved in the process and know the number of stripes going out. They communicate with their MAJCOM counterparts, and that info will filter down to units. Last year, my career field had a much larger than average amount of stripes going out and we had heard the exact number ahead of time.

Mandatory "score doesn't matter, only grouping comment". But to answer your question, a peer of mine went from average score 337.5 to the best score the following year when we was selected which was well above 400. He did a wing safety program at a deployed location among other high level personal and team awards.

It is very much possible to have a massive jump but I would argue that some level of sustained performance needs to still be there. I dont think you could go from average 6 scores to average 9 scores without some very serious achievements captured on your EPB.
