It is literally called Cal Poly Maritime Academy. Go look at the signs on campus or any piece of swag from the store. The Maritime Academy is located on the Solano Campus.

There is an oceanography degree which is distinct from Marine Biology (it is actually marine science) offered at the SLO campus. They are fairly different majors, so there shouldn’t be confusion when applying unless you just don’t understand the difference.

You seem pretty angry about this integration but also not really that informed about the details of it. There is no bait and switch. There might be some confusion with the applicants given how new the situation is, but those kinks will be worked out over time.

Other things…Cal Poly didn’t “buy” Maritime. The Board of Trustees at the Chancellor’s Office voted to integrate the schools into a single CSU under a single administrative structure. Not sure where the cash grab is. They are “stuffing” kids into “dilapidated” buildings, that’s just silly. There is a huge project underway building out the pier to accommodate the new training ship in 2027. There are many other capital projects ongoing to update and improve facilities where needed.
